This Wuthering Waves Suisui and Yangyang cosplay photo set has finally been organized and released. The sunlight was very clear and transparent on the day of the shoot, and we specially chose a classical garden with water features and wooden boardwalks. To restore the bond between the characters, we communicated a lot about their relationship before the shoot. Suisui is mature, likes to tease her younger sister yet cares deeply for her, while Yangyang is seemingly tsundere but actually relies on her older sister—capturing these states was the core of this shoot.

The costume details are extremely numerous. As Suisui (played by me), to recreate that outfit featuring golden totems and feather elements, I wore a black base inner layer, paired with gorgeous shoulder ornaments and long flowing ribbons on the outside. The two red knots and metal hairpin on the wig also truly test the stylist's craftsmanship. Yangyang (played by Lubao) wore that blue-black toned outfit embroidered with many cloud and water-ripple textures, complemented by exquisite white feather hair accessories and forehead stitching makeup details. When the two of us stood together, the visual contrast and sense of echo were very strong.

The shooting process was not easy. The outdoor light was very strong, so to retain the clothing details under high contrast, we kept looking for shade from trees and architecture. When shooting the photo sitting on the wooden boardwalk, we not only had to maintain the posture of the upper body, but also mind the extension of the leg lines. Because there were many costume accessories, sitting down often crushed the feathers or metal pieces, requiring adjustments over and over again. When holding that translucent butterfly fan, we also had to control the angle precisely so that the light could filter through the fan surface, capturing a dreamy feel.

Speaking of character interactions, we even added some mini skits. For example, Suisui mentions that Yangyang has lost weight and pretends to want a hug, or brings up stories about sneaking osmanthus cakes and sneaking out to watch flower boats when they were young. These dialogues helped us better get into character and emotions. To showcase that daily vibe of a long-awaited reunion where they act tough on the outside but are soft-hearted inside, we tried various interactions in standing and sitting poses, such as leaning in to whisper, helping each other tidy up hair, and physical contact that looks like confrontation yet is full of concern.

As players who frequently do cosplay, being able to challenge this pair of characters in Wuthering Waves with complex emotional bonds was a fantastic experience. We put a lot of effort into the makeup and props, hoping to present their vibrant everyday atmosphere through this set of photos. Overall, although outdoor location shooting was tough, seeing the combination of light/shadow and clothing texture in the final photos made all previous efforts worthwhile.
