Cosplayed Kotone Fujita today! Getting ready early this morning started with this vivid bright yellow wig; while its hue is radiant, the fibers required careful brushing to keep frizz at bay. To faithfully capture the character's hairstyle, I braided a delicate plait along the side and accented it with pearl hair clips. For makeup, I kept the base exceptionally clean, highlighting amber contact lenses paired with a generous sweep of pink blush across the undereye area. A glossy, hydrating pink lip tint tied the makeup together. The ensemble features rich chromatic layers: the cyan-blue long-sleeved jacket is the visual centerpiece, tailored with structured fabric that holds its crisp silhouette while offering slight stretch. The oversized, extra-long sleeves are a major design highlight—completely cocooning the hands so only fingertips peek through or hiding them entirely; simply resting clenched fists at chest level or under the chin instantly conjured that soft, endearing charm. The yellow-and-purple color-blocked inner top formed a bold, lively contrast with the outerwear.

The convention floor lighting was quite tricky, demanding constant micro-adjustments in angle to find flattering key light. The photographer, @雨花なかれ, was wonderfully seasoned at directing postures; after testing several backdrops, we chose a spacious, less crowded corridor within the hall. The first photo features edited glowing cat-ear effects outlined in soft white neon lines, which paired adorably with the long sleeves and fist poses to heighten the playful edge. The second frame gives that straight-out-of-camera authenticity, preserving genuine skin texture and facial nuance. In front of the camera, constantly staring directly into the lens can look stiff, so tilting the head slightly or casting the eyes downward resulted in far more natural expressions.

Because the wig is fairly long, moving around generated static friction against the jacket, requiring quick touch-ups at every new spot. The ultra-long sleeves made drinking water or holding onto belongings tricky, yet it offered first-hand immersion into how Kotone navigates her wardrobe. The entire shoot flowed seamlessly; despite having to seek out quiet corners amidst bustling crowds, the resulting deliverables were deeply satisfying. This styling doesn't rely on cumbersome props—it thrives entirely on the bold color palette and animated personal presence. Kotone's aura needs to feel sparkling and vibrant without becoming caricature. After wrapping up, I headed over to the doujin artist alleys to pick up a few books I'd been eyeing. Every cosplay session unlocks new technical insights, and this one taught me a lot about bold color balance and long-sleeve dynamics.
