Sharing my thoughts on shooting this set of Katyusha home-style photoshoots. For this styling, I chose a soft pink and white cosplay outfit, paired with elf ears and long golden hair, aiming to present a state that is both pure and lazy at home. To recreate this natural atmosphere, we specially chose a white upholstered headboard and light pink sheets for the setting. Adding the birthday cake prop with little cherries, the sweet vibe of the entire picture immediately materialized. The props used during the shoot were actually very well-thought-out; for example, the giant pink teddy bear served as a great background element, balancing the visual weight of the frame nicely. Since the setting was entirely barefoot, the texture of the cotton fabric against the soles of the feet actually made me feel more relaxed, allowing me to sit more naturally without forcing any stiff poses.

In terms of lighting, this set primarily relied on the Zhiyun X200 light stick as the main light source, using high CRI fixtures to present a fair and translucent skin texture. This separate lighting control effectively avoids muddy colors caused by complex indoor light sources. Paired with the Viltrox 85EVO lens, a larger aperture was used to moderately blur the background plush toys and cluttered bedroom elements, highlighting the main subject and making the image look cleaner and purer. I noticed that many fellow enthusiasts easily end up with cluttered images when shooting home-style photoshoots, so during our pre-production setup this time, we removed almost all clutter from the bed except for the cake and plushies, and even flattened the bedsheets repeatedly.

Regarding styling details, this pink and white off-shoulder dress itself is made of a very lightweight material, so when staying still or slightly turning the body, the ruffles on the hem and sleeves give off a subtle flowing feel. To match this lightness, small white and pink flower ornaments were chosen for the hair accessories, accented with fine green vine elements to prevent the head decorations from looking too heavy, achieving a visual balance. The blending of the elf ears and the fitting of the wig edges took the most time in pre-production. Since there were diverse camera angles, with some being very close up on the upper body, any visible flaw on the wig edge would heavily affect the visual experience. This time, we focused heavily on trimming the area around the ears.

There were actually many spontaneous moments during the shoot, such as resting the chin on hands and zoning out, or holding up the cake to interact with the camera. These casually captured actions are often more infectious than posed ones. In terms of camera positioning, the photographer squatted by the bed for low-angle shots, which elongated the leg proportions and naturally included the feet in the frame. Combined with the barefoot aesthetic, the overall relaxed vibe instantly clicked. The entire set of photos presents a very transparent color tone, and the post-processing only involved simple fine-tuning of warm and cool contrasts to preserve the original image texture to the greatest extent.

I feel that shooting final cosplay photos is often not just a replica of the character's appearance, but an extension of the imagination regarding the character's living state. Bringing an elf from a 2D anime girl photography world into a cozy room full of plush toys for a moment feels very real. This shooting experience was fantastic, with every detail considered beforehand. Every successful photoshoot cannot be achieved without meticulous pre-production.
