Before posting these Convention photos, I actually did a lot of mental preparation. After all, the traffic algorithm on Xiaohongshu has always been a complete mystery. Seeing a view count of just over two hundred truly makes me not know whether to laugh or cry; I even started reflecting on whether only practical posts like 'seeking event buddies' can secure reach, while meticulously captured Convention photos are doomed to be treated by the algorithm as if they don't exist.

However, even though the analytics are underwhelming, considering how much heart I put into preparing everything, I still want to post these few prints as a keepsake.

This time, it's Convention photos from Bilibili World 2025 (bw2025), and the costume I wore holds quite a few subtle design choices in its details. The most eye-catching element is certainly that pair of mechanical gloves; their metallic texture looks incredibly cool in photos, but wearing them makes it genuinely difficult to flexibly control my fingers to pinch items or hold poses. At the venue, whenever I moved around to hold an umbrella or shift my hand positions, I felt a solid sense of weight and resistance with every bend of the joints. This somewhat heavy, even slightly icy mechanical feel forms a stark visual contrast with the soft, lightweight cream-white pleated skirt on my body.

The light in the exhibition hall on the shooting day was exceptionally complex—the high-reaching overhead light matrices characteristic of anime conventions created a lot of harsh highlights, and an absolute swarm of people kept shuffling through the background. Being able to catch these clean, isolated moments in such a cluttered environment makes me incredibly grateful to the photographer for finding a workable camera position amidst the crowd.

The wig and makeup were also under preparation days in advance. The bangs across the forehead retained a natural airy feel, and I repeatedly adjusted the braided hair at the back until it achieved a neat, face-framing silhouette. For the makeup, I intentionally toned down the color intensity of the eyeshadow, choosing instead to emphasize root-by-root distinct eyelashes and a soft-focus texture for the base makeup, while sweeping the blush on very lightly to give the facial features a soft, serene quality. Those brown vertical fabric panels stitched onto the front of the skirt visually elongate my proportions when walking, making me look exceptionally tall when standing and gently lifting the skirt.

The unedited raw shot in Figure 2 of me slouching on the cushion actually captured the exact moment I was exhausted halfway through the convention. That genuine fatigue, paired with the letter envelope prop by my side, unexpectedly evokes an everyday scene straight out of the series. I especially love the hand close-up in Figure 3, because the structural skeleton of the mechanical hand becomes exceptionally sharp under the side lighting, revealing the fine details of the mechanical hinges inside. The umbrella-holding shot in Figure 4 was originally intended to restore some elegant movements, but that umbrella turned out to be a massive prop burden—not only was it difficult to open and close, but holding it single-handedly combined with the heavy gloves was a serious test of arm endurance.

Wearing white tights paired with blue-and-brown color-blocked Mary Jane shoes is a detail I am highly satisfied with. The heels feature a tiny red bowknot, exposing the lines of the ankles as I walk. My absolute favorite is Figure 1, which lightly lifts the skirt hem; the natural folds generated by the fabric look incredibly comfortable.

Though the reach for this set of photos didn't hit expectations, being able to secure satisfying photos for a character prepared with genuine devotion is an achievement in itself. The props were heavy, but seeing the accuracy reach my expectations makes me incredibly happy. Organizing these photos effectively places a period at the end of this convention trip; when I head out next time, I will still bring this exact same passion along.
