[Citlali cosplay] July World Line Convention Photos: A Tipsy Waifu Captured in a Unique Moment

Convention photos archive from July World Line! This time I'm bringing a tipsy version of Citlali.

Actually, when I got this costume, I was already thinking about how to break away from conventional presentation angles rather than just standing still for poses. Considering the many straps, semi-sheer fabrics, and cutout details in the overall design, combined with that slightly lazy and tipsy state from her character concept, it creates a much stronger sense of story between the person and the props. In Genshin Impact's character design, Citlali's cool color palette and dark style are inherently suited for low-light photography. So for these Cosplay convention photos, we specifically utilized background bokeh spots to bring out a rich nighttime atmosphere.

Let's talk about the makeup and hair details. The light pink long hair uses a lightweight yet fluffy wig with soft bangs transition, paired with black and blue mechanical-style headpieces on both sides of the ears, making the overall silhouette look very crisp. For makeup, I extended the eyeliner at the outer corners and enhanced the rosy lip color. Combined with a slightly vacant gaze, this was the key to capturing a 'tipsy' state. Many people think being tipsy just requires dreamy eyes, but actually, slightly furrowed brows, a subtly upturned mouth, and careless body language fit much better with the relaxed, effortless vibe of her 'Granny' persona.

The tailoring of the costume is super eye-catching. The black halter neck bodysuit features large geometric cutout designs around the waist and abdomen, plus pink and blue color-blocking at the collar and a dangling blue geometric pattern tie, making the upper body's color layers very rich. The lower body consists of a blue-violet layered pleated skirt, while the part requiring the most effort to organize was the pair of black strapped leg decorations. To showcase the best leg lines in front of the lens, I spent a lot of time adjusting the tightness and spacing of the straps to ensure they wouldn't slide off while walking while keeping the crisscross lines clean and neat. Paired with open-toe lace-up flats, the visual extension is fantastic. The black leather bracer and glove on the right arm have a strong texture, adding a bit of heroic flair to this playful and dreamy outfit.

The venue and prop team also contributed greatly to these convention photos. I held close that blue-black gradient shark plushie with huge white eyes and jagged details, as well as the huge off-white cushion prop beside me. When shooting the second full-body photo, the vintage metal lantern placed on the ground to the left was crucial; warm yellow firelight glowed through the dark background, forming a brilliant cold-and-warm contrast with the environment's cool blue light and the bokeh spots above my head. This lighting effect not only highlighted my face but also made the plush props look exceptionally soft and cute.

The day of the shoot was actually quite exhausting. Carrying those bulky plush props around and squatting or sitting on the ground for repeated adjustments with the lighting technician took a toll. But seeing the final photos with that slightly tsundere, lazy, tipsy expression made everyone feel that all the preparation was worth it. Genshin Impact's Citlali has so many captivating details herself. Though setting up this outfit and organizing all the straps took immense effort, at the moment frozen in time, all the exhaustion turned into deep love for this character. I hope this serious attitude toward archiving convention photos lets everyone feel my understanding of anime cosplay and this character.
