Today's location shoot was chosen in the afternoon when the light is relatively soft. To avoid shadows caused by overhead lighting, I specifically found a street corner with tree shade and reflective surfaces for framing. The use of the roadblock stone pier as a prop was quite clever; although its yellow and black painted pattern is a bit eye-catching, sitting on it just allows the height difference to showcase the leg lines and the layers of the skirt, while also adding a relaxed everyday feel through the sitting posture. A lot of thought went into the details of this Shimoe Koharu costume: a loose black sailor jacket paired with a pink inner top and pleated skirt. The fabric was chosen with a certain drape yet wrinkle-resistant quality, so that the edges of the clothes can maintain clean lines when striking poses. The pink lines along the cuffs and collar edges serve as a great embellishment, and the embroidered badge on the left sleeve of the jacket was also custom-made and restored, with the reflection of the thread showing very clearly under the lens. To fit the character's slightly tsundere and lively personality, the wig was trimmed with blunt bangs and sideburns, and given a natural slight wave treatment. The black wing hair ornament on top of the head is fixed very securely with hairpins, preventing it from shaking even when the wind blows, ensuring stability during candid shots.
In terms of makeup, the focus was on the blending of the eye makeup. The eyeliner and eyeshadow were appropriately elongated along the eye shape, paired with light pink colored contact lenses, making the gaze more direct. The base makeup was kept relatively thin and translucent, retaining the original texture of the skin, and blush was applied under the eyes and on the tip of the nose to create the character's girlish feel. Because it was an outdoor shoot, the light changed rapidly, so special attention was paid to angles during shooting. For example, when leaning the body forward, you need to tuck in your chin and lift your gaze upwards, which can show a bit of innocent yet vigilant oppression. When sitting down, the angle of the crossed legs must be well controlled—they need to be closed and tightened while naturally exposing the edge of the white stockings without causing the pleated skirt to expose anything due to the sitting posture. The combination of white stockings and small leather shoes is an important part of restoring the character; during shooting, the smoothness of the stockings must be ensured to avoid wrinkles affecting the visual appeal, and the absolute territory of the thigh area is also utilized to enhance the visual layers of the frame. For that classic "Sensei, dameyo" scene, I tried several different micro-expressions in front of the lens, from frowning to pouting, and the hand movements also cooperated with tugging at the collar or skirt, hoping to bring out Koharu's contrast moe where she is obviously very shy but tries hard to pretend to be calm. The whole shooting process was about constantly adjusting postures, and communication with the photographer was also crucial. Finding the best lighting angle and picture composition, trying to integrate the character's personality into the stillness of every action and gaze—maintaining the pose while sitting on the stone pier actually tests core strength a lot, but seeing the final image presentation, it feels like all the early preparation and adjustments during the shoot achieved the expected results.
