Portraying Kitagawa this time, the overall concept was to restore the original design's cool yet playful temperament as much as possible. The wig chosen was a high-quality light golden long straight hair, and the whitish tone looks very eye-catching under the lighting. After getting the wig, I spent some time trimming the bangs; the straight bang part needed to be trimmed flat enough, and the sideburns on both sides also had to fit the cheeks, so as to shape the face shape while ensuring the hair looks natural when tied up or down later. To make the wig look less stiff, I also used a flat iron to add a slight curve, clamping out a natural luster along the direction of the hair.

In terms of makeup, the core part was definitely the eye makeup. Because the character's pupil color is very special, I specially wore a pair of red-brown colored contacts. The eyeshadow used a pinkish color family to blend extensively on the upper and lower eyelids, especially the lower eyelids to emphasize that slightly red blended feel, and then dark eyeshadow was used to slightly deepen the outer corner of the eyes, drawing a slightly drooping innocent feel. The base makeup needs to be very fair and clean, and setting spray is a must, otherwise it's easy to get shiny under the flash. The lips chose a nude-pink lip glaze, applied in a thin layer to maintain the soft texture of the lips, avoiding the color from being too eye-catching and keeping the visual center on the eyes.

In clothing matching, it's quite classic: a crisp white short-sleeved shirt paired with a bright blue tie. I carefully ironed the shirt with a garment steamer, the neckline needed to be crisp, and the tie knot shouldn't be tied too rigidly, loosening it slightly would feel more natural. A black thin choker with a small round bead pendant in the middle was matched around the neck; this detail adds a lot of points, breaking the monotony brought by the white shirt and blue tie, and increasing a bit of rebellious campus style feel.

During the shooting, I tried a few different compositions. Front close-ups mainly highlighted the facial makeup, making the lens focus on the eyes and hairstyle, and the gaze had to maintain a lazy yet scrutinizing feel without being too stiff. When taking mirror selfies, I flashed a V-sign, wanting to record how I looked outside the lens while displaying the framing view inside the phone screen. High-angle or low-angle shots test facial contours, so I would slightly tuck my chin to make the gaze look sharper.

In terms of lighting, I chose a front soft light; this kind of light can smooth the face and make the wig look shinier without appearing frizzy. The background tried to find a relatively simple indoor environment as much as possible to avoid cluttered items stealing the spotlight. Actually, portraying such anime cosplay characters, the most important thing is confidence and the grasp of demeanor. Even if it's just a few simple selfies, the character's personality must be conveyed through the gaze and micro-expressions. Because of limited conditions this time without setting up a studio or outdoor shoots, I'm already quite satisfied with being able to tinker with such an effect indoors. Next time there's a chance, I plan to further refine the props and details, striving to shoot a set of pictures with more storytelling feel.
