[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: The Moment of Making a Vow

Regarding this Honkai: Star Rail Cyrene Cosplay set, during the preparation phase, I actually had many ideas about the overall color coordination and costume texture.

Let's talk about the costume's structure first. Although predominantly white overall, it isn't a thin or plain pure white; rather, it presents layering through splicing different materials. The hollowed-out geometric texture design around the collar, along with that light purple fabric rose, offers many remarkable details. The pattern in the chest area incorporates subtle red, blue, and purple inner accents, which, spliced with the outer white layers, make the outfit look both ethereal and not overly plain. The headpiece is a design I personally love very much: one side features plant-branch-like decorations, while the other side has elegant flowers, forming a great visual balance with the light Pink wig—appearing nimble and well-designed.

The focus of the makeup this time was placed on the eye makeup. To recreate the character's ethereal and slightly mysterious traits, I applied a layer of dark smudging on the lower eyelid instead of a conventional winged eyeliner. Combined with appropriate eyeshadow layers and false eyelashes, this made the gaze appear more focused and deep. This eye makeup can express vastly different emotions in response to lighting changes during Cosplay photography. For lips, I chose a matte lip glaze in a nude pink shade, which doesn't steal focus from the eye makeup or hair color, keeping the overall makeup clean and fitting for the character.

In terms of lighting choices, this photo set captured two completely different emotional moods. In the first photo, I used a soft and even front-lighting environment, which better showcases the tailored details and fabric textures of the costume. In the second image, however, I intentionally retained strong side-backlighting, creating a stark contrast between light and shadow. The sunlight hit right across my neck and shoulders, casting sharp shadows on my face and neck. This use of light and shadow actually tests angles during shooting, creating a more melancholic, mysterious, and story-filled atmosphere. This is also a different facet of the character I wanted to present in this Anime-style portrait share.

In terms of movement and body language, to fit the theme of "Making a Vow," I tried several distinct posing designs. For example, placing a slightly opened palm in front of my eyes, or making a reaching gesture with my fingers toward the camera. These details required great eye contact with the lens to capture accurate emotions. Furthermore, the white hollow arm sleeves on my arms with intertwined light blue ribbons, along with the silver ring on my hand, enriched the visual details nicely during these actions, preventing the frame from looking empty.

There were not many props for this shoot; the main focus remained on restoring the character's innate temperament. Although spending some time securing the hat or head decorations was necessary, the final photos were very satisfying. Sharing Cosplay photography is sometimes not just about demonstrating costumes, but a concrete expression of the character's atmosphere. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to feel the cool, pure, and dreamlike aura in this look.
