[Xingqiu & Chongyun Cosplay] Genshin Impact Xingyun Duo: Hangzhou Dreamland Convention Record - Image 1

These Hangzhou Dreamland Convention photos of Xingqiu and Chongyun can finally be posted! When I got the raw photos, I was immediately drawn to the clean, comfortable color tones. The two look as though they maintained great energy throughout an intense day of walking around the convention without showing fatigue.

The focus of this outing was entirely on texture and quality. Xingqiu's light blue short wig featured trimmed jagged ends, and bright blue contact lenses paired with cool white base makeup gave his gaze a particularly clear look, perfectly fitting that non-aggressive youthful charm. The contrast of the white base with the light blue scarf and black-gold gloves was the highlight of this look, with refined stitching along the gloves' edges that looked sharp during action snapshots.

Meanwhile, Chongyun's dark blue hair required some patience to style. A touch of greyish-blue layering was blended into the dark blue wig, creating a soft gradient along the hair edges under lighting rather than flat, dull blocks of color. Amber contact lenses paired with a black gold-patterned jacket and yellow tassels on both sides made his aura much warmer. This cool-and-warm color pairing worked cleverly in the frame, and with their affectionate shoulder-draping pose, it captured that seamless 'Xingyun' chemistry just right.

As for the internal joke mentioned in the post caption, it's a running gag between us—every time we cosplay together, there are plenty of fun interactions. Venue crowds at the anime convention were huge, and many friends came over trying to identify who was Chongyun and who was Xingqiu, so we had to rely on hair color and costume schemes to boost recognition. Chemistry between cosplayers is key; when posing, where to place hands and where to look required barely any verbal communication—click, and the moment was frozen.

The venue actually lacked fancy backdrops, utilizing a simple greyish-blue studio background; however, because the light source was soft and facial lighting was even, makeup details were preserved completely. Checking the final shots later was rewarding—no awkward blown-out highlights occurred, and eyelines and face contours stood up well to zoom-in inspection. Convention photos themselves serve as a record; when both people remain naturally relaxed without forcing unnatural poses, the resulting visuals feel comfortable.

Regarding costumes and props, we made several detail adjustments before stepping out, such as tuning neck tightness and ear-tassel placements to prevent frequent detachment on site. Additionally, our post-processing stayed restrained without over-smoothing or heavy beauty filters. With good raw shots, we only needed to tweak brightness contrast while preserving real skin textures and wig strand directions. I believe this is the principle cosplay should uphold—supporting characters through solid hair and makeup rather than relying solely on post-edit retouching.

Honestly, every time I cosplay official partner duos, the most fun part is greeting fellow fans. Seeing this attire, everyone recognized them as Xingqiu and Chongyun from Genshin Impact, often walking up to ask for photos together—this feeling of being recognized is an acknowledgment of our fidelity to the characters. Though our faces were stiff from smiling all day, recording these happy moments makes all the minor efforts completely worth it. I hope to show more pairings in the future and share more carefully crafted works with everyone.
