This time I challenged Aemeath from Wuthering Waves. Looking at the pictures of this pink-and-white dress before, I felt it was full of details, and after actually getting my hands on it, I was truly amazed by its texture. The layering of the skirt hem is done exceptionally well, especially the pink stripes on the inner lining and the white lace trimming on the outside; paired together, they possess both a girl's sweetness and avoid looking overly bulky. To ensure the natural curve supported by the crinoline, I adjusted the inner bone structure several times before the shoot, so that a perfect skirt shape could be maintained during actions like sitting and raising hands.
The large pink bow on the chest is definitely the finishing touch. To make its three-dimensional feel stronger, I added a bit of rigid lining inside. Matched with the small blue heart decoration, the colors echo each other just right. The lace neck ornament on the neck is also an indispensable detail, which nicely flatters the neck line. Speaking of the legs, this time I specially paired them with white lace strapped stockings; this wrapping line sense can increase visual layering, and shooting barefoot can better embody a sense of lightness and innocence. To prevent the straps from slipping during the shoot, I used special anti-slip stickers, and the spacing of each wrapping section was carefully measured, striving to present a perfect geometric feel in front of the lens. Since it's a barefoot setting, while posing, the straightening of the insteps and the natural relaxation of the toes both needed to be intentionally controlled, so that the leg lines captured would appear smoother.
A lot of effort went into the wig part. This pink twin-tail wig needed to maintain its fluffiness while also having the natural feel of blowing in the wind. I thinned out the hair roots a bit, and then used styling spray to grab the lines piece by piece, making the entire head look fuller and more three-dimensional. The large white bow on top of the head and the small crown-like accessories were fixed with clips, requiring finding the exact center of gravity on the wig, otherwise they would easily skew. The contact lenses were chosen to be a pinkish style, to make the gaze closer to that clear and limpid feeling of the character. The eye makeup mainly elongated the outer corner lines of the eyes, adding a bit of subtle pearlescent highlight, making the eyes look more expressive. The base makeup pursued that flawless matte feel, so setting powder was swept on relatively thickly.
During the shooting process, it was necessary to showcase the character's static beauty. Sitting on the white cylindrical prop, I tried several different sitting postures. For the shot looking back at the lens, the key was pressing down the shoulders and straightening the back, which can display a nice shoulder and neck line. The positions of both hands also needed to be natural, avoiding stiffness. Photographer @XiaojiangXiaochun's control over light and shadow is extremely powerful; the pure white high-key background makes the whole frame look very clean and translucent. This kind of lighting especially tests the cleanliness of the makeup and the texture of the clothing, fortunately the early preparation was sufficient enough, and the resulting effect is fantastic. Every time the shutter is pressed, it's a soul resonance with the character, and I hope everyone can feel this tranquil feeling.
