[Yangyang cosplay] A Serene Traditional Chinese Journey in the World of Wuthering Waves

Lighting fell across the artificial rockery and shimmering ripple-effect materials, creating a cool, dark ambiance. The set design for this shoot emphasized the color contrast of blue, black, and gold; to match the environment, I did extensive homework on the props. The oil-paper umbrella in my hand—painted with butterflies and calligraphy motifs—resonated beautifully with the suspended white crane sculpture. The low tea table displaying bamboo slips and calligraphy brushes, along with the woven bamboo lantern emitting a warm amber glow at the frame's edge, all served to distill the composition, steering the visual focus squarely onto the character's nuanced expression and posture.

The costuming preserved rich dimensional layers: the sheer, floating blue-and-white chiffon clashed strikingly with the metallic sheen of the arm guards. The high-slit lower design elongated the body's proportions, which, paired with black ankle boots, retained a poised, heroic edge while embodying her intrinsic gentle grace. When preparing this Yangyang cosplay costume, I fine-tuned the waist ornaments and arm armor repeatedly to ensure every detail held up to camera scrutiny.

Capturing the frames reclining across the jagged rockery required immense core engagement to showcase fluid leg contours and a posture both languid yet subtly alert. My back, abs, and waist had to remain firmly flexed while keeping my facial expression relaxed and effortless. The colossal artificial moon in the background and the crinkled reflective sheets on the floor granted expansive depth, while the chill from the fog machine made the studio crisp—yet it was precisely this cool air that focused my gaze.

In portraying Yangyang, I wanted to emphasize her balance between motion and stillness. Bypassing exaggerated poses, I conveyed her inner composure through eye focus and the delicate grip on the umbrella handle. The entire shoot was physically taxing—holding the heavy prop umbrella at precise angles and shifting reclining stances atop hard rock tested stamina and concentration. But the moment I saw the preview frames where light, shadow, and character merged seamlessly into Wuthering Waves daily life, all exhaustion dissolved.

Many viewers might perceive strong atmosphere in the final images, yet the logic behind it is meticulously calculated: every ray of light and placement of each prop was calibrated through repeated trial and error. From set design and costume tailoring to the final shutter click, every step posed unique challenges. This visual presentation represents a deeply satisfying milestone in the 2D Vision Project and Wuthering Waves Creator Incentive.
