At this CICF anime convention, I finally managed to shoot the Shenhe Bride look that had been planned for so long. Since it had been a while since my last update on Xiaohongshu, and given my great state on site, I quickly sorted out these selfies and outdoor captures. The bridal design centers around deep black tones, draped in expansive black lace and mesh tulle that flutters open with every step, creating immense dimensional layering. To harmonize with the overall aesthetic, I selected a black lace-trimmed camisole inner layer, where a sapphire blue gemstone at the chest introduces a striking visual pop against the dark palette. The neckline features purple piping and red tassel cords, echoing the character's canon design accents. For the wig, I went with a silver-gray hue cut with blunt ends, leaving a long sweep of side bangs covering half of my face. Paired with blue contact lenses and deeper eye shadows, my facial features stood out sharply under outdoor natural light.
I put considerable thought into the coordination of the lower half. To contrast with the opulent upper body, I chose fishnet stockings patterned with black rose motifs, paired with black patent leather high heels. The ankle straps on the heels sculpted clean leg lines, which rendered with wonderful depth alongside the fishnet texture under the lens. The black folding fan in hand served as a key storytelling prop; when posing, using the fan to partially veil my face or resting it across my shoulder with a subtle sideways glance made it effortless to slip into character. The location was set in an outdoor lounge area surrounded by lush tropical broadleaf plants. The white sofa and dense greenery offered an intense color contrast against this dark gothic bridal gown, with expansive green backgrounds being ideal for full-body framing. The lighting was natural daylight; to keep the dark garments from turning into an indistinct silhouette, we specifically sought three-quarter backlighting angles that illuminated the wig and facial profile while allowing the sheer tulle skirt hem to catch translucent light.
While shooting, I experimented with multiple seated angles on the sofa. Crossing my legs elongated the leg lines, while leaning slightly forward and alternating fan gestures added kinetic variety. Although the outfit came with numerous metallic accessories and harness straps—making dressing, undressing, and adjusting quite time-consuming—seeing the delicate texture of the tulle and the dramatic tension in my gaze made all the prep work feel completely worthwhile. From makeup to props, every detail was crafted with utmost fidelity. This set primarily aims to convey an atmosphere where aloof cool-toned elegance and dark opulence interweave, and I hope everyone enjoys this Shenhe Bride creative piece.
