I was most concerned with the texture of the patent leather jacket this time; I had to control the lighting to avoid over-reflection while retaining the material's thickness. The white long straight wig and gold contact lenses were coordinated to restore the character's calm and focused look.
The photo set features three compositional states. The standing poses emphasize tall, elongated lines, using the black jacket's cinched waist and white skirt hem to create a sharp silhouette. The small crow on the shoulder is the highlight; it took some effort to secure, but the result fits the temperament perfectly. Sitting poses were more relaxed. Wearing red-soled stiletto pointed-toe heels with black tights provided excellent extension for the calf lines, so I chose several stretched and crossed-leg poses on the metal folding chair. The black fan, whether closed or slightly open, changes the visual atmosphere between standing and sitting.
In terms of makeup, I controlled the precision of the eye makeup. Although the yellow contacts are recognizable, I had to adjust for reflections based on on-site angles to avoid a hollow gaze, thus presenting the character's focused expression. Hair styling focused on the volume of the crown and the natural look of the cowlick, keeping the gray-white long hair smooth and not frizzy under studio lights.
Shooting in patent leather and high heels is a test of stamina and control; I had to ensure body movements supported the stiff fit of the clothes while keeping expressions relaxed and natural. Fortunately, the pure gray background focused attention on the character. The black-white pairing, plus gold eyes and red-sole contrast, easily created depth. Yixuan's look in Zenless Zone Zero is very linear; recreating it fits the character's capable and mysterious aura better than expected.
From preparing the costume and props to the studio shoot, I tried to stay close to my understanding of the character's style. I didn't want to create an overly exaggerated atmosphere, maintaining a calm and cool temperament, hoping to combine the black patent leather, white long hair, and these accent props in a more convincing way. For those with a white hair fetishist preference, I hope this set is visually satisfying.
