[Zhuang Fangyi Cosplay] Arknights: Endfield's Peach Blossom Spring, Quiet Moments in Chronicles of Seeking Scattered Legacies

To properly shoot Zhuang Fangyi from Arknights: Endfield, I had a clear direction in mind even before starting. Wanting to recreate that serene yet slightly aloof atmosphere of falling blossoms like snow and deep spring in Wuling, every detail from scene design to hair and makeup had to be precisely executed.

For facial makeup this time, I specifically emphasized the red smudge at the outer corners of the eyes, paired with a long, straight black gradient wig and that pair of red-and-black demon horns, striving to project the character's signature mysterious and ethereal presence before the lens. Trimming the wig also took careful thought, allowing the natural drape of the bangs to complement my face shape.

The layering of the outfit is well worth examining closely. The upper body features an off-the-shoulder off-white design that maintains clean tailoring while integrating dark fantasy combat elements through black-and-gold mecha arm sleeves. This collision of rigid armor with soft fabric fits her character lore seamlessly. The wide black corset around the waist, studded with silver cross metal buckles and paired with red cord, beautifully contours the waistline. The lower body consists of a wide, flowing green and white skirt; particularly noteworthy is the deep teal glitter-scaled long tail on the side, which produces a unique refractive glow under light. During the shoot, we deliberately adjusted angles to keep it looking dimensional without collapsing.

Prop coordination and creating the on-site atmosphere were also core focuses for this shoot. An oil-paper umbrella with ink-bamboo prints on a white backdrop perfectly echoed the Traditional style cosplay aesthetic, while the pink blossom branch in hand injected a pop of vibrant color that softened the cool-toned makeup and outfit. The set designers crafted the scenery with exceptional care—calligraphy drapes, a massive moon lamp, blue-and-white porcelain vases, wooden platforms, and warm-toned square lanterns behind me immeasurably enriched the frame's depth. To evoke this mystical xianxia realm, we utilized dry ice extensively to create misty smoke effects. As smoke swirled in the twilight, cool moonlight intertwined with warm lantern glow, creating an immersive scene atmosphere.

In terms of posing, I experimented with standing upright holding the paper umbrella, sitting on the floor, and resting on one knee. Standing required engaging core muscles to maintain an erect posture while holding the umbrella effortlessly to project composure. The sitting and crouching poses called for balancing skirt draping with overall compositional symmetry. For close-up shots holding the blossom branch in particular, I deliberately adjusted arm and facial angles, hoping to convey a touch of gentleness and relaxed ease through my gaze while preserving that cool, aloof aura.

The mechanical arm sleeves and black boots had noticeable weight, so repeatedly adjusting positions and lighting angles during the shoot was physically demanding. However, seeing the envisioned images materialize on camera provided the fulfilling momentum to keep pushing forward. The mood of Chronicles of Seeking Scattered Legacies—desolate yet brimming with vitality—complements Zhuang Fangyi's unique charm, bridging the mortal and fantasy realms. Throughout this Anime-style photography session, I gained deeper insight into maintaining aesthetic grace through subtle body language despite the constraints of intricate combat attire and heavy gear. I hope this dedicated presentation accurately conveys the captivating essence of her character.
