[Yu Linglong Cosplay] What Happens After Getting the Immortal Mask

"What would you do if you obtained the Immortal Mask?" That is a sentence that kept echoing in my mind after finishing this shoot.

I am sure friends who follow me or know this character from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will recognize her immediately upon seeing this intricate purple-black horned mask and signature teal-blue traditional Chinese style outfit. As a player, bringing this character from the screen into reality at an anime convention is truly a meaningful ritual. The preparation work leading up to this convention photo delivery was actually quite intricate.

Let's talk about the costume and props that everyone cares about most. The cut of this outfit is very unique, blending modern tailoring onto a traditional Chinese style foundation. The teal-blue fabric itself has a shimmering, fluid quality, and combined with golden embroidery and bead strings on the shoulders and chest, it faithfully reproduces the intricate craftsmanship. The neckline design and midriff-baring details require good posture control when wearing, otherwise it easily looks loose. I especially love the copper coin ornament on the chest and the long golden claw nails on my hands, which instantly max out the cold, elegant, and mysterious vibe.

The key prop this time is the "Immortal Mask." The craftsmanship on the mask is solid, with a great antiqued metallic texture, and its two exaggerated horns are real head-turners during the shoot. In the close-up shots, paired with purple smoke effects generated on-site, the entire character's aura immediately burst forth, as if truly touching some otherworldly spiritual power. Posing with the mask actually tested my arm strength and composure, as the prop carries a bit of weight—I had to maintain dynamic tension while stabilizing my center of gravity.

The convention hall had heavy foot traffic and messy lighting, but photographer @Pulao411 was extremely professional, not only finding us a relatively clean area but also setting up spot-on lighting. These black lace thigh-high stockings you see in the photos were actually not easy to wear in the hot and humid convention environment, but to restore the character's charm to the fullest, these costume and makeup details could not be compromised in this black stockings cosplay effort. The blue high heels with large red plush balls and golden decorations in the image looked especially rich in texture under the dim cool lights of the venue, echoing the outfit perfectly.

When I received the convention photos on-site, I was genuinely amazed myself. The saying that "the three elements of portrait photography never lie" is true—great prep makeup and precise post-processing color grading can really bring a character to life. The heterochromia eye look carried a strong sense of story in close-up shots. During makeup, I specifically communicated with the makeup artist to tilt the eye makeup slightly upward to anchor that cool yet mysterious aura. Combined with long light blue hair and the red plush ball hair accessory on top, the classic color contrast came together beautifully.

Finally, a quick note about the thoughts behind this set. Beyond capturing good-looking visuals, we wanted to convey the character's independence. Whether sitting on a high stool looking up at the camera or holding the mask ready to wave it, I tried my best to immerse myself in the setting. The cool one-second freeze-frames everyone sees actually hide the hard work of many costume, makeup, and photography artists. Producing convention photos with this level of quality was a delightful surprise.
