This time, I'm presenting an official Columbina cosplay photoshoot from Genshin Impact. For this shoot, we selected the Nanning photography studio (Xingman Movie Studio) for our studio photoshoot. The entire scene was themed around a blue-and-white palette, complemented by a white swing, a harp, and an abundance of artificial blue and white floral arrangements, taking the atmosphere to the next level.
The costume details are actually quite intricate: the metallic-finish ornament across the chest features multiple layers, combined with detached sleeves and ribbon bows along the arms; putting it on required meticulous arranging piece by piece, or it would easily look loose and untidy. What took the most time was the white crisscross straps of the garter stockings on my legs, which had to be secured section by section so they hugged the leg contours smoothly—allowing me to hold various poses without pinching into the skin or disrupting the visual lines. The wig featured a jet-black base with bright pink gradient highlights; to preserve clear layering in the bangs and pink strands framing the face, styling and setting were done well in advance.
Communication with photographer Uji Sezawa was remarkably smooth during the shoot. Because the setting leaned cool-toned overall, we balanced the lighting by concealing subtle warm light sources in the background, keeping the composition from looking overly cold. In terms of pose choreography, we incorporated interactions with the swing and harp, predominantly featuring seated and kneeling postures. Clasping my hands or cradling a white orb was all designed to express the character's serene yet enigmatic demeanor.
Producing a complete cosplay project—from prepping costumes and props in advance and finalizing the studio set to dialing in the lighting and posing on the day—involves a meticulous process. Yet seeing the play of light and shadow alongside the rich textures of the costume rendered so flawlessly in the final photos made every step feel completely worth it.
