[Lappland the Decadenza Cosplay] Happy Birthday to Little Lappa! Making Do with a Selfie but Trying Hand-Lettering for the First Time - Image 2

Happy Birthday to Little Lappa!!! Due to various reasons, the official photoshoot didn't make it in time, so I'm just making do with tonight's overhead-lit inside-car cosplay selfie.

Today is not only Lappland's birthday but also a tiny breakthrough for me as a coser, as I tried adding handwritten fonts onto the images for some blackboard writing practice (though I'm still working hard on my handwriting ovo). I've actually prepared this Lappland the Decadenza cosplay look for quite a while. The wig is a fluffy silver-white style with clear hair definition, and the black horizontal band on top along with the massive beast ears reproduce the character's core features. For the makeup, I tried light-colored contact lenses paired with silver tear-streak eyeliner, making my whole look appear cooler and sharper. The costume details are also very exquisite; the starburst metal ball decoration on the neck is the visual focus, and paired with the red neckerchief, even a simple black, white, red, and gold color scheme feels highly layered.

Although the lighting inside the car is limited, it perfectly leverages the streetlights of the nightscape as background light, beautifully accentuating the three-dimensional contours of my facial features. The hand-lettering design is a new attempt this time. I simulated many versions on the computer and finally decided to adopt this rather elegant italic English font to pair with the selfie, hoping it didn't disrupt the overall texture of the frame.

Thank you all so much for your continuous support. In fact, doing cosplay is not just about changing clothes and wearing a wig, but a process of immersing oneself into the character's inner heart. Every stray hair of the wig and every stroke of the eyeliner are traces of careful grooming. I am truly happy to bring Lappland the Decadenza to meet everyone today on the occasion of her birthday.

I originally wanted to do an outdoor shoot during the day, but got delayed by unexpected errands, so I could only rush out this selfie version tonight. The photography equipment was very simple—just direct phone shots straight from inside the car. However, I still adjusted the colors slightly in post-processing to make the skin tone look more even, the nightscape background clearer, and the city's neon lights beautifully scattered. I highly recommend that if you take selfies inside a car at night, you can try turning off the overhead light and utilizing the urban light sources outside the car. The resulting effect will have an unexpected cinematic feel.

Back to the hand-lettering, I want to do more blackboard writing practice with this kind of cursive font in the future, looking forward to pairing my own font layout design with the next official photoshoot to give the entire set of photos a stronger personal style. Anyway, today is a happy day. Although the content is rushed, it is full of heart.
