I've organized some of my favorite Convention photos of this Touhou Project Alice Cosplay from the China International Comics Festival (CICF) to share. As an outfit designed for an anime convention, a lot of preparation went into the details of the costume and props. The dress structure combines an inner lining, multi-layered tulle skirts, and outer lace overlay to ensure the hemline stays full and voluminous. The primary blue color paired with wine-red bows, pearl chain embellishments at the chest, and lace detailing around the neck gives the overall look a rich texture. The hands are fitted with white gloves accented by decorative lace cuffs, while the legs feature White stockings and platform heels—a combination that stood out nicely at the convention.
Regarding the shooting process, the convention hall was packed, making it challenging to find a clean background. The photographer was constantly adjusting angles while I transitioned between different poses. In one shot with one foot resting on the grimoire, holding my balance took considerable ankle strength, but the resulting frame looks wonderfully dynamic. Maintaining an upright posture across the shoulders and neck was also crucial during the shoot, especially when turning sideways to look back, which required disciplined facial control. The makeup was delicate, featuring blue colored contacts, teardrop accents at the corners of the eyes, and a soft lip color that complemented the sweet overall aesthetic.
At the China International Comics Festival, many people recognized this Touhou Project character, and everyone's enthusiasm was fantastic. While reviewing the photos, I also reflected on subtle fabric creases that could be smoothed even better. After all, beyond recreating the character setting, capturing character traits through the photographer's lens is inherently fun and rewarding. The lighting across these Convention photos is bright and soft with a high rate of great shots, and I'm very grateful for the photographer's hard work.
I'm still deciding which character to cosplay next, but this costume was comfortable enough to make walking around the convention all day relatively easy. I personally love designs with magical elements, and posing with the prop book felt especially immersive. This post serves as a personal keepsake of my shooting insights for this Alice Cosplay, which will make for fond memories to look back on.
