For this Genshin Impact Odette cosplay photoshoot, the overall concept was to maximize the serene, cool aloofness of the Genshin Impact Snezhnaya style. In terms of hair and makeup details, long silver wavy hair was paired with light purple contact lenses; combined with the classic blue-and-white dress, the visual focus rested primarily on the gold trim and gemstone embellishments spliced along the waist and midriff. The costume fabric had fantastic texture—the deep blue satin bandeau top shone with rich luster under cool light, and the curves along the skirt hem were gorgeous. For styling details, I specially paired it with White stockings and high heels; considering the visual appeal of these White stockings on camera, they not only flattered the leg contours but also enhanced the overall elegance.
The posing design throughout the shoot revolved around this—for example, sitting crossed-legged on a white wrought-iron bench, using highlights cast on the White stockings to accentuate the leg silhouette. There was also a kneeling series, utilizing the draped spread of the skirt hem to enrich visual depth, keeping the composition centered without hugging the borders to facilitate cover layouts later. The venue featured extensive cool-toned set dressing, including various blue floral arrangements and white Roman columns, paired with birdcages and crystal lamps to create an intensely dreamy setting. Lighting mainly relied on outdoor diffused ambient light, followed by cool white shadow grading in post-processing, making skin tones appear even more translucent and delicate.
The character design in Genshin Impact's themed aesthetic has distinctive traits; Odette's color palette and accessories have countless details, demanding careful attention to the placement angles of jewelry and gloves during studio shooting. Huge thanks to the photographer for camera angle guidance during this shoot—posing in high heels and White stockings is quite exhausting, as balancing the fullness of the skirt while keeping leg poses relaxed required adjusting sitting angles multiple times to find the optimal proportions. For instance, in the two seated shots, oblique-angle framing maximized the leg lines while keeping the gemstone accessories on the chest gleaming with reflections.
The resulting photos turned out ideal, with crisp, cold tones perfectly fitting the character design. Through this photoshoot, I gained more hands-on experience in capturing this elegant, cool character archetype—from managing the physical weight of the costume to ensuring the harmony of White stockings and high heels on camera, all of which are worth summarizing for Anime cosplay. Vintage scenes with blue-and-white palettes are ideal for refining subtle details; lighting requires special care with transitions across the face and legs to avoid blowing out highlights and losing depth. Furthermore, the wig needed to maintain volume to harmonize with the blue bouquets in the set; all in all, the finished quality of this shoot turned out genuinely exceptional.
