Slipping into this Red and white shrine maiden outfit and standing in front of the hallway mirror, I prepared to record how this Reimu Hakurei Cosplay look from Touhou Project turns out when worn. Upon receiving the outfit, the most direct feeling was the strong layering of colors and tailoring. The short red top paired with a white ruffled collar, plus a bright yellow bow tie right in the center, is visually very striking. The midriff-baring design actually feels much more refreshing than expected when wearing it, avoiding the heaviness that traditional styles might bring. In the second photo, I switched to a plush cotton doll of the same character. The doll's miniature outfit details were crafted with equal care—featuring the same midriff-baring design and identical ruffle elements—creating a quirky \"holding a miniature version of myself\" vibe when posed together, perfect for enriching the visual layers. To make the image convey an authentic anime character feel, I carefully adjusted the angle between the phone and mirror during shooting to ensure the subject stayed centered while avoiding having the phone block too many costume details. Cosplay, as a way of materializing characters, involves not only aiming to recreate the original design concepts as closely as possible externally, but also integrating personal habits. The blur effect around the edges of the frame was added slightly in post-processing as a natural mirror-edge blur to keep the visual focus centered on the subject. While shooting outdoors might face tests from complex lighting and backdrops, simply standing in the hallway taking a Mirror selfie allows one to see the true state of this outfit clearly. Stripping away all unnecessary scenery and complex lighting to return to the costume itself, observing whether it aligns with one's understanding of the Touhou Project character, is a fantastic restoration experience in itself. The actual comfort of wearing this outfit is also quite good without feeling overly restrictive, making it extremely suitable for producing content with an everyday style or Gensokyo casual atmosphere.
