[Bready cosplay] Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Red and White Christmas Outfit with Black Tights Outfit

When I first received this Christmas variant outfit for Bready, my immediate impression was how perfectly the red-and-white color scheme fits the holiday spirit. As a character in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Bready naturally carries a casual, languid vibe, so when working on this Christmas cosplay, the overall approach was to preserve her character traits while adapting to the cozy warmth of a home holiday setting.

This time, I chose a modified red-and-white Christmas outfit. A black athletic bandeau was worn as the base top under a cropped red cardigan trimmed with white faux fur, with a green bow and golden bell at the neckline serving as the finishing touch. The cardigan's tailored cut nicely reveals the midriff and waistlines while maintaining a playful charm. The lower half features a red skirt with white lace trimming and a round fluffy pom-pom detail. The skirt was kept at an ideal length to accentuate leg lines, which, paired with the signature over-the-knee Black tights outfit, visually elongates body proportions. For the black stockings, I chose a semi-sheer matte fabric that avoids distracting glare, flatters the skin tone, and matches the character's designed texture.

Bready's wig is a very light pinkish-brown, and the twintail hairstyle required patience to comb and shape. To make the crown look fuller, I worked on the roots to give it a natural, fluffy texture that feels closer to the character herself. The makeup was kept relatively subtle and elegant without heavy contouring, featuring a slightly winged eyeliner and brownish-red contact lenses that harmonize with the hair and warm Christmas tones.

For the set, we chose an indoor corner decorated with a Christmas tree. To capture that warm Winter vibe, lighting selection was paramount. Instead of harsh, cool-white strobes, we utilized warm-yellow continuous lighting to simulate the soft, slanting sunlight of a winter afternoon. This light fell gently across the face while casting a golden sheen over the Christmas tree, golden bells, and red stockings in the background. Diffusing light through nearby curtains during shooting gave the skin a more textured, glowing look with smoother shadow transitions.

To embrace the Christmas theme, the photographer arranged several small props, including a woven rattan basket filled with golden-brown baked croissants. This touch broke the monotony of simply displaying the costume, adding a sense of everyday life and storytelling—as if Bready had just rolled out of bed on Christmas morning, ready for breakfast and enjoying leisurely holiday hours.

Throughout the cosplay process, the most rewarding aspect was feeling the character's mindset in a specific scenario. Although this outfit lacks the exaggerated combat gear from the game, portraying Bready's personality through casual garments and a slightly languid, confident expression was a delightful experience. For this styling, the comfort of the over-the-knee socks was crucial, and the warmth of the cardigan was just right under the indoor lights. Through this photoshoot, I was pleasantly surprised by how photogenic this modified Christmas look turned out; with the contrasting palette of red, white, and black, even simple seated poses conveyed rich visual depth.
