This shoot for the nurse outfit of Buro cosplay from Muse Dash was finally wrapped up at the convention today.
The overall garment is crafted from glossy PVC fabric, whose pink-and-white palette exhibited exceptional texture under the exhibition hall lights, with reflective sheens adding abundant detail to each frame. To faithfully recreate the character's design, I deliberately wore a red wig with elf ears and adjusted my makeup accordingly. In terms of props, the most eye-catching element was undoubtedly the oversized syringe adorned with pink cross decorations.
Sharing some thoughts on Cosplay photography: this time, we used a Sony A7M4 paired with a Tamron 35-100 lens. This focal length range is exceptionally practical for Convention photos, capturing sufficient ambient environment while compressing the background to make the character pop. The convention venue floor was remarkably glossy today, with glass curtain walls and gray pillars offering fantastic spatial depth, though it also brought real challenges. Intense floor reflections can easily introduce stray glare, so during shooting, I tried to avoid angles with direct harsh lighting, using the natural floor reflections to enhance the compositional extension of the frame. The wide aperture delivered lovely bokeh at both the 35mm and 100mm ends, and the f/2.8 aperture maintained reliable shutter speeds indoors while cleanly blurring out the cluttered background crowds.
To highlight the costume's fine details, I experimented with standing and seated poses. While standing, folding my hands or holding the syringe with one hand beautifully accentuated the nurse dress's tapered waist and swallowtail skirt hemline. For seated poses, pairing a white high stool with crossed legs better showcased the combination of white over-the-knee Stockings and white high heels, making the overall silhouette look much sleeker.
Although the fabric looks crisp and structured, shooting it tends to produce wrinkly glare; therefore, when posing, I made a conscious effort to keep my back straight to preserve the outfit's smooth finish. Accessories like the nurse cap and gloves were equally crucial—keeping close track of their alignment throughout the shoot was necessary to avoid crooked angles from spoiling the frame. I'm genuinely pleased with how these Convention photos turned out: the glossy texture set against the hall's cool-toned environment harmonized seamlessly with the character's original visual aesthetic.
