The layering of this outfit is remarkably intricate. The top features a spliced design of pink, white, and light blue, with a cropped cut that requires keeping excess fabric from bunching up around the waist. The waist accessories are particularly complex, crafted from gradient glossy materials with metal buckles; to prevent them from sagging or shifting during the shoot, I reinforced them with hidden pins internally. The detached sleeves on the arms combine glossy fabric with translucent pink material. When wearing them, the straps cannot be tied too tightly or they hinder movement, yet cannot be too loose, or the sleeves slip down when wielding the prop gun.
Styling the wig also required immense effort. To maintain the organic flow of the pink hair, I worked in just the right amount of volume. The horns on the forehead and the elf ears needed to sit seamlessly at the proper angles without looking out of place, locked down with discreet black bobby pins. The sci-fi firearm prop in hand sports a pink, white, and blue paint scheme; the pink gloves and black straps on my hands offered fantastic grip, ensuring a rock-solid hold and eliminating any wobble during the shoot.
This shoot was set in a server room packed with cables, providing a gritty ambiance for server room photography. Most of the surrounding equipment consisted of vintage monitors, oscilloscopes, and server cabinets; the tangled yellow-orange cables and blinking blue indicator lights created rich background depth. However, this also posed quite a challenge for lighting. Natural light pouring through the venetian blinds was harsh; without careful control, the subject could easily get swallowed by the cool tones of the machinery. I asked the photographer to add warm fill light to my face, separating the character's silhouette from the intricate industrial background to create a striking warm-and-cool contrast.
For posing, given the industrial characteristics of the server room scene, the movements couldn't look overly soft. Whether perching on the edge of the desk, leaning against a server cabinet, or half-kneeling on the office chair to look back, I had to keep my spine straight with core muscles continuously engaged. In the desk-edge shot in particular, with my thighs supporting my weight while wearing glossy high-heeled boots, my leg muscles were kept under constant tension to preserve balance and sleek lines.
For the lower half, I styled the look with white geometric-textured stockings. This fabric is extremely sensitive to lighting, as intense glare easily blows out leg contours and mesh textures. Throughout the shoot, I continually adjusted my angles to let side light reveal the intricate weave of the stockings while avoiding flat, overexposed highlights. The stockings harmonized with the cropped top, cleanly tracing my body curves.
The overall makeup was accented by blue contact lenses and bold red lips, heightening the piercing focus of my gaze. This look marries sci-fi coolness with anime vibrancy for a distinctive Sci-fi style cosplay. Because of the heavy gear around the waist and legs, I could barely bend over during breaks and had to maintain a strict standing or upright seated posture throughout. Yet seeing how seamlessly the character integrated into the server room in the final edits made all the physical strain and adjustments completely worthwhile. This techwear-infused style brings tremendous narrative presence to the screen.
