This set of Azur Lane Cheshire official photos shot in the sunroom has finally been sorted out, and the photographer's mastery over natural light and shadow is just right.
A lot of thought went into the replication level of the entire outfit, which primarily adopts a white-and-purple color-blocked Lolita fashion design. The top features an off-the-shoulder look paired with detached white lantern sleeves, optimizing the visual proportions of the shoulders and neck. The large purple bowknot at the neck serves as the visual focus, forming an excellent color echo with the multi-layered deep purple ruffle skirt hem on the base layer. The inner white underskirt makes the hem look fluffy and three-dimensional, and along with that floor-length light purple semi-transparent sheer tulle train, the entire garment can present different senses of layering whether stationary or in motion. The large white hat brim on the head is equally sophisticated, adorned with purple draping satin ribbons and romantic floral decorations, elevating the overall gorgeous feel by a degree.
In terms of environment, we specifically selected this greenhouse photography venue featuring massive floor-to-ceiling windows, where abundant natural light complements the indoor green vines, hydrangeas, and other elements beautifully. During the shoot, backlighting and side-backlighting were primarily adopted. This kind of light handling can effectively outline the character's hair edges and clothing silhouettes, making the frame more translucent and soft while reducing dullness. Throughout the shooting process, I consciously combined both static and dynamic states. When sitting quietly on the bed's edge or a wooden chair, the focus was on displaying clothing details and an elegant atmosphere; whereas the standing dynamic snapshots, such as moments of lifting a single leg or swaying both hands, directly transmitted the character's lively personality.
I must praise the dynamic capture effect brought by the high shutter speed, which, coordinated with a lower camera position, successfully froze the flying posture of the skirt hem and sheer train during rotation, filling the entire set of images with vitality. Meanwhile, the matching of white over-the-knee socks and thick-soled round-toe shoes effectively enhanced the character's teenage-girl-like traits in this white thigh-highs outfit. Regarding props, the hand-held blue-and-white bouquet formed a natural echo with the background environment, increasing the overall integration of the frame.
In fact, during real-world location shooting, facing such a complex multi-layered dress, how to maintain the wig styling and the skirt hem's center of gravity under large-scale actions was a significant difficulty. Fortunately, the static control practice prepared in the early stage provided a better guarantee for the final photos. Photography is more than just pressing the shutter; it encompasses the comprehensive orchestration of light, composition, and character emotion. Being able to objectify Cheshire's energetic feeling is a highly interesting thing. I hope everyone can feel the care transmitted in this set of works, whether in the texture of the costume or the layers of light, providing some reference for players who like this style.
