[Heart King: Dugu Cosplay] Frivolous Jianghu and Ancient Heroic Charm in Moonlight Blade Online

The moment we finished shooting this Heart King: Dugu cosplay set, the first phrase popping into my mind was, "So frivolous and untamed... yet, exactly to my liking." Matching lines with Beggar Sect sister @-杯水坳堂-, I instantly felt immersed in that Jianghu world.

For this shoot, I placed special emphasis on enlarged eye shapes and red lips to fit that slightly distant and detached temperament. The white plush hair accessory on my head and this shimmering white sheer gown were the highlights of the whole look. Sheer white outfits actually test lighting heavily; the fine shimmers only show that galaxy-like flowing texture under dim light, translucent and bright. Many asked about the butterfly wing tattoo on my arm; it was actually a painted sticker applied to echo the character design.

Partnering with Beggar Sect · Pouring Wine and Singing went super smoothly. Her dark green combat attire with black-and-gold bracers had an aura completely different from my white sheer gown, creating a very comfortable visual contrast. In an Ancient style photoshoot studio decorated with wooden lattice windows and calligraphy drapes, we explored many interactive possibilities. When she held a folding fan, leaning over to lift my chin, that sense of pressure and cool atmosphere emerged instantly. In the photo waving weapons, we repeatedly adjusted our grip posture on the hilt and eye focus, striving for that casually effortless look with sharp edge in our eyes.

Photographer @樂天TIMOTHY was truly creative in capturing light and shadow this time. Warm yellow lantern light from the background shone onto my white sheer gown, filling the whole frame with a cinematic texture. Beyond screens and lanterns, lotus flowers and leaves were set up in the scene, which, combined with a low-angle camera, stretched the limited studio space into a deep, layered courtyard depth.

The trickiest part of the shoot was actually how to wear this outfit—maintaining a flowing feel while preventing wardrobe malfunctions during sitting postures and dynamic movements. To make leg lines appear natural in frame, I adjusted the coordination between ankle-strap heels and skirt hem trim. Opening and closing the folding fan couldn't be just empty gestures; it needed to match the unhurried rhythm of in-game actions, appearing both frivolous and carefree.

The 10th anniversary of the Moonlight Blade IP carries youth memories for countless players. As a cosplayer who loves Ancient style photoshoot concepts, having this opportunity to recreate Heart King: Dugu cosplay is deeply meaningful in itself. I dislike deliberately forcing aloof poses, preferring instead to capture the character's genuine temperament and bring it before the lens.

Having organized the entire photoshoot set, I selected a few strongly interactive official photos to share. The biggest fear with a two-person interactive theme is having both people pose separately without connection; fortunately, our tacit chemistry ensured emotional flow shone through every photo.
