[Nero Bride cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: The Battle Bride of Greatsword and White Veil

This white combat outfit brought to the convention is specifically Nero Bride from Fate/Grand Order. Preparing this entire look took a considerable amount of time; upon receiving it, my biggest concerns were the wig styling and necklace details.

Starting with the gear, this white, black, and gold greatsword looks lightweight, but holding it up really tests arm strength. The lighting at the convention was quite harsh, but the photographer skillfully used key and top lights to suppress ambient stray light, making the white fabric texture look remarkably high-end. The collar chain combined with the front padlock design serves as the highlight decoration of the outfit, striking a balance between bondage aesthetics and the unique charm of a Battle bride.

The lower body styling is crucial for this look. Thigh-high stockings paired with leather leg straps visually elongate body proportions. The tall boots wrapping just below the knees feature metal zippers; to ensure comfort while adding high heels to the soles, we stuffed plenty of cushioning pads inside to ease moving around the convention floor. Because of the high heels and glossy finish, they were eye-catching, but required extra balance control with every step—fortunately, the skirt train's lightness perfectly counterbalanced the heavy visual weight below.

For posing, the photographer and I agreed to emphasize the tension between 'battle' and 'bridal dress'. Poses like standing on one leg or leaning against the weapon while seated on the floor allowed the layered skirt to drape naturally around my legs. Particularly in the shot seated on a high stool, every outfit detail—from the wig bangs to the front padlock, zipper, and metal rings on the boots—was captured within the frame.

Navigating a crowded convention while carrying such a massive weapon took real skill. These photos caught relatively relaxed moments, making the main character presence pop against the blurred crowd background. The overall white costume, accented with gold lace and a subtle light blue gradient at the hem, displays an airy sheen under actual lighting. Cold-toned convention lights sharpened the outfit's silhouette, capturing that slightly distant yet glamorous aura I aimed for.

Because the prop was so large, some standing poses required leaning into gravity to offset the weapon's weight. Though holding them was strenuous, seeing the final shots made it immensely satisfying. Convention venues often present limited background options, but utilizing a wide aperture and overhead light sources successfully separated the subject from the cluttered environment.

Early preparation—including wig trimming and accessory assembly—took substantial effort. I hoped to present not just a striking look, but also that confident, haughty flair characteristic of Nero. This was my first outing with this gear this year, and everything from prop condition to execution went smoothly, capturing the vibrant atmosphere of the convention floor in this Cosplay sharing set.
