[Rei Ayanami cosplay] Calendar Gothic style outfit, visiting the Neon Genesis Evangelion themed cafe

This time I cosplayed as Rei Ayanami in a calendar Gothic style outfit and visited P Cafe, the Prismland Neon Genesis Evangelion themed store. The complete Gothic style outfit featured a black lace dress and a black beret trimmed with white lace, complemented by accessories like a cross necklace, a light blue wig, and classic red contact lenses. This calendar Gothic style outfit was relatively unique; wearing it to take photos in front of the acrylic standees matched the theme perfectly. Posing alongside those character standees against the backdrop felt like a cross-dimensional crossover.

Opening blind boxes really tested my luck. I opened several blind boxes, and the coasters and clear cards I pulled were all Shinji and Kaworu—both expected and unexpected, without seeing a single Rei Ayanami. As someone who loves Rei and also likes Asuka, I really felt like crying on the spot. But every cloud has a silver lining: the randomly distributed admission postcard turned out to be Asuka! The illustration on that postcard was gorgeous with great print quality, making holding it very satisfying.

Not getting Rei's merch this time was a bit of a pity. I specifically checked out the embossed badges and found they were all mecha designs. Looking at that merch, I couldn't help thinking how wonderful it would be if the acrylic quicksand blocks and badges featured Rei's artwork! The artwork on the acrylic quicksand block in particular was crafted with great care, so missing out on it was somewhat regrettable. Not getting Rei's merch was a pity, but seeing the real items was comforting in its own way.

Now, let's talk about the themed store food at P Cafe. Misato's mashed potatoes were really delicious—fine, smooth texture with spot-on seasoning. The ice cream waffle combo was also great, not overly sweet, with rich texture. That green cake was relatively average in comparison, tasting like a standard sponge cake with cream without any special surprises. The rest of the dishes felt fairly standard, probably eaten mostly for nostalgia and atmosphere. However, on the principle of zero waste, I finished everything ordered and unexpectedly ended up quite full.

Being able to take such satisfying photos this time was all thanks to shutter-master Teacher Asuka a, who accompanied me specifically to visit the store and took so many high-quality photos. Shooting with Teacher A was fun in itself; Teacher A is very professional with finding angles and adjusting lighting. Teacher A's personal aura is practically identical to Shinji—just looking at Teacher A feels true to the character, making the shooting process thoroughly enjoyable. Huge thanks to Teacher A for the help; the entire visit was incredibly fulfilling and unforgettable.
