Getting straight into this Umamusume: Pretty Derby Love as Before look, its presentation under natural light is indeed more fitting to the character's original temperament than imagined. The overall color scheme is dominated by pink, white, and orange-red, offering a crisp yet sweet sense of power. The outdoor greenery background happens to neutralize the large expanse of warm tones, making the frame look more breathable and full of vitality.
Starting from the head, the most iconic part of this look is the orange-red twin tails combined with that streak of white dye in front of the forehead. To keep the wig fluffy outdoors, I specially adjusted the hair ends with a rolling brush before heading out, avoiding any flat look. The bright gold bands at the hair ends serve not only as decorations but also act as fixed gravity support, preventing the hair bundles from shifting during the shoot. The hood on the head and that pair of blue-and-red interlaced small horns are where the soul of the entire look lies. The red thin line along the edge of the hood outlines the silhouette, while internal support materials were used to keep the hood standing upright. It won't deform even in an outdoor light breeze scene, looking visually very stable.
The top selects a pink off-the-shoulder, open-back style, paired with a classic white turnover collar and vertically arranged white circular buttons on the chest. This design not only elevates the overall refinement but also makes the lines of the neckline and shoulders appear exceptionally stretched out. The pink ruffled skirt hem allows the waistline to reveal itself naturally, possessing a maiden's playfulness without looking overly flamboyant. The tailoring of the entire outfit has a certain contouring effect on body proportions, especially the off-the-shoulder design, showcasing excellent skin texture and collarbone lines under outdoor natural light, making the overall atmosphere highly dreamy for this pink-themed girl.
In terms of makeup, it coordinates with the red contact lenses from the character setting, making the gaze more focused and spirited in front of the camera lens. The eye makeup chooses a soft pink-toned blending, paired with a highly water-gloss lip glaze, presenting a translucent and hydrated effect under the refraction of sunlight. The blush is applied below the eyes and on the cheek areas to emphasize a healthy complexion while softening the hard facial contours, shifting the overall texture toward a gentle feel. The base makeup adopts a lightweight and breathable method, striving to retain the skin's own natural texture under the high-definition outdoor lens.
During the shoot, we chose angles close to the natural light direction, utilizing the dappled tree shadows and reflections from the building's exterior walls to enrich the layers of the frame. For hand movements, postures close to the face were specially arranged, such as fingers slightly curving close to the cheek, making the frame look more dynamic and relaxed instead of a rigid stance. The side-front angle of natural light happens to illuminate the details of the face and clothes; the white collar and pink top look exceptionally clean under the bright sunlight, avoiding situations where excessive shadow leads to a loss of shadow details.
The completion and comfort of this look are both highly ideal, especially the handling of the hood and wig, where the overall appearance doesn't feel heavy. Although the outdoor environment is a daily shooting venue, finding the right angle and light-shadow relationship can still greatly elevate the character's three-dimensional quality. Furthermore, the color palette of the costume is very bright under daily conditions, without using exaggerated reflective materials, so the texture leans more toward an authentic replication of a daily-series character. Delivering this set is mainly to record the sweet cosplayer's dynamic moments under a natural atmosphere, showcasing the character's sweet style via the lens's snapshots.
