As an active cosplayer in Shanghai and the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, today I have compiled a collection of my recent multi-style cosplay photo set creations shot across various stylized scenes. This collection features dark metal studio and location shooting, atmospheric bar setups, refreshing daily JK uniforms, traditional ancient Hanfu, and some sci-fi techwear stylized looks. These are all the fruits of collaboration with different photographers, basically covering the shooting domains I currently excel in.
I have always believed that a cosplay photo set is not just about wearing the correct outfit and putting on nice makeup; it is a profound understanding of the character's spiritual core, expressiveness in front of the lens, and the mutual grinding between the model and the photographer regarding lighting and composition. I personally possess over two hundred photoshoot experiences and have been long engaged in collaborations and creations within the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region. My energy is highly abundant during weekday evenings, full weekends, and even weekday mornings—as long as the concept sparks inspiration and my state is on point, shooting five different outfits consecutively in a single day doesn't make me feel tired at all. Naturally, a great set cannot do without the photographer's unique perspective and guidance, so I personally place immense value on two-way communication during our collaboration.
In our community, we often encounter situations where execution capability fails to catch up with brilliant ideas, but as a model, I am highly willing to spend time honing my gestures, poses, and expressions. I am currently an adult with a stable personal income, meaning my investment in this hobby can completely support all shooting requirements. My cumulative number of completed photo sets has long exceeded ten. During collaborations, I bring my own insights to the table, actively discussing scene positioning, prop textures, and even the direction of lights and shadows with the photographer. For collaborating photographers, I have a few of my own little preferences; for instance, I highly value a photographer's ability to capture the model's expressiveness and their deep understanding of the model's temperament and aesthetic appearance. We can dive into specific project details once we establish a basic consensus on each other's style and aesthetics, which ensures high efficiency and avoids misunderstandings.
Regarding shooting costs, I prefer to be highly practical. I can fully cover regular studio fees; however, if we encounter premium studios that require special custom set-ups or carry relatively high production costs, my principle relies on mutual benefit, meaning we can adopt an AA-system to split the expenses. After all, excellent set-ups and lighting conditions will definitely produce final photos that do total justice to the investment, making it completely worthwhile to spend money on appropriate scenes.
Lately, I am particularly interested in specific project plans for several works, including "Shunka Shuutou Daikousha", "Kamiina Botan", "Marriage Toxins", "Niko Cat", "Loving You Till the End of Life", "Twentieth Century Electric Catalogue", and story-driven works like "Earning a Living Through Death Games". In terms of gaming themes, I am also highly willing to try and recreate titles such as "Mahjong Soul" (excluding collaboration characters, as they are too difficult to complete full sets), "Blue Archive", "Azur Lane", and "Goddess of Victory: Nikke", which lean toward mecha anime and military sci-fi/mecha girls.
The photos shared above basically encompass my commonly used styles at present. Personally, I do prefer grand scales and wide-angle compositions; epic, expansive scenes can better build a narrative atmosphere. Compared to extreme close-ups, the visual tension of wide scenes fascinates me much more. However, my capability in video production is currently quite limited—usually, I can only manage simple camera movements using a smartphone or a pocket gimbal. If a collaborative shoot does not demand high-end video special effects, my equipment can barely handle a few transition shots.
I have always held that a top-tier cosplay photo set is the result of joint efforts from both sides.
