This Saber armor was much heavier to wear than expected, especially the breastplate and articulated metal gauntlets, which made slight clanking sounds when moving. When taking these convention photos, just adjusting the angles of the armor plates took some time in order to clearly showcase the blue floral crest on the chest and the weathered marks on the silver armor. The surface of the silver plates was intentionally scratched to give it a battle-tested look rather than looking too plastic. The blue crest on the breastplate was painted directly on, with black outlines that created a sharp, contrasting effect against the silver background. The armor on the wrists is fully articulated, and the segmented finger guards bend naturally when holding the sword.
The wig was a major highlight; the braided blonde hair, complete with her signature ahoge (the unique looped strand on top), paired with the dark blue high-neck top and exaggerated puff sleeves, gave the overall silhouette a strong presence. The greatsword in my hand was also quite hefty, with the royal blue lines on the crossguard complementing the weathered gold finish nicely. During the shoot, I tried several different poses; besides the usual sword-swinging motions, the final shot extending one hand perfectly showcased the flexibility and texture of the armor gauntlets.
These convention photos were taken at the World Line Anime Convention, and it wasn't easy to get clean shots in such a bustling environment. The photographer scouted both indoor and outdoor locations. Under the outdoor natural light, the reflective texture of the silver armor was incredibly sharp, while during the indoor cosplay photography session, the warm light strips in the background created a beautiful contrast with the cool-toned blue and white armor. When shooting this look, I felt completely in character; although the gear wasn't particularly lightweight, immersing myself in the character's mindset made the weight feel like it only added to the immersion.
The convention photo session went very smoothly, with an amazing atmosphere filled with passionate fellow cosplayers from various other works. Standing in a real-world setting while holding a sword brings a wonderful, dimension-crossing sensation. Shooting all day in a complex wig and heavy armor was definitely a bit of a stamina test, requiring more water breaks than usual, but the moment the camera shutter clicked, all the exhaustion faded away. The texture of this outfit really catches the light beautifully through the lens, and the photographer constantly adjusted angles to capture the optimal light and shadow, highlighting the polished sheen of the metallic edges. There are still a few minor decorative details on this armor that weren't fully showcased this time, so I hope to find a studio with even better lighting in the future to further highlight more of the costume's fine details.
