[Ganyu Cosplay] Casual Convention Snapshots of Liyue's Adeptus Qilin in Genshin Impact

These Ganyu Cosplay Convention photos—accompanied by a playful OOC apology—are among my favorite captures from this convention. Having chosen Ganyu from Genshin Impact as the focus, I aimed to align every aspect, from wig selection to fabric textures, with her original character concept. Adding an OOC apology doesn't mean I intended to alter her character, but rather acknowledged that capturing her tranquil yet slightly bewildered Adeptic aura is a high bar—so I opted for a more relaxed, grounded interpretation at a convention corner.

The highlight of this outfit lies in subtle design details. The open-back cut was surprisingly breathable and comfortable. Holographic light-blue sleeves cast distinct iridescent reflections under shifting lighting, adding depth compared to solid fabrics and catching light effortlessly at the shutter release. Silver trim along the collar and sleeves, combined with golden geometric patterns on the Stocking outfit, elevated overall garment texture. A seated pose on the floor tests pattern tailoring, but the elasticity and fit held sleekly without sagging. The tight black tights provided comfortable compression and balanced nicely with the light-colored bodice despite intricate gold prints.

Regarding wig and contacts, I opted for a lightweight Blue wig featuring her signature ahoge tuft on top, with red horns securely fastened so they wouldn't loosen during long wear. The blue contact lenses were my favorite touch, enhancing eye clarity to subtly evoke her detached yet powerful nature. While some cosplayers prioritize strict fidelity, adding personal interpretation and relaxed composure works wonderfully in a bustling convention setting.

Shot in a standard exhibition hall with concrete floors and blurred stalls in the background, the setting challenged visual framing. A light-colored circular seat cushion became my temporary perch; sitting on the ground felt more natural than standing for blending into the event atmosphere. Surrounded by passing crowds, the moment of shutter click allowed total immersion and connection with the photographer.

Including an OOC apology stemmed from setting aside Ganyu's typical quiet formality in favor of a casual seated posture. Holding a golden bottle prop served to keep framing filled without weapons. This set expresses personal love for Genshin Impact and genuine joy before the camera. Character roleplay doesn't require obsessive 1:1 replication of every line; stepping in front of the lens thinking "I am Ganyu" naturally conveys the atmosphere attached to the outfit.

Unwinding after a convention with casual snapshots outside rigid lore constraints feels genuinely liberating. Presenting Ganyu in a relaxed posture without rigid tension offered a fresh creative angle. Reviewing the shots, costume details remain crisp despite complex lighting. These Convention photos capture small sparks of inspiration and mark a satisfying milestone for this shoot. Next time, I may pursue stricter in-character composure, but this day's version remains a cherished addition to my convention log.
