[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane Oath Skin: Lightness and Gentleness in Icy Blue Tones

This set is Cheshire's Oath Skin look from Azur Lane, which was a very special shooting experience for me. Although studio shoots usually involve many uncontrollable variables, the completeness from costume to set design was exceptionally high this time, and the resulting photos turned out feeling very comfortable.

First, let's talk about the costume itself. The overall color scheme is blue and white, perfectly matching Cheshire's own hair and eye colors. The material of the blue and white wedding dress is very light, made of breathable tulle. What satisfied me most was the laced-up chest and high-slit design; while not very practical for daily wear, under the studio spotlights, it beautifully outlines the layered flow of the skirt and curves of the wearer. The gloves are long lace gloves, which, combined with the strikingly large bow veil on top, elevate the retro and sacred feel of the outfit to another level. The sandals on her feet are silver-white stiletto heels, dainty and exquisite.

The set design on shooting day featured a cool tone that I really adore. The studio specially hung up large areas of bright blue drapes, visually simulating the texture of a waterfall or ice cave. Paired with luminous blue leaves and delicate crystal pendants hanging overhead, it created a serene and holy atmosphere. This cool, distant feel of blue and white actually poses a rigorous test for makeup. To match this temperament, I specifically asked the makeup artist to desaturate the eyeshadow, focusing instead on sharp eyeliner and distinctly defined lashes, while picking a glossy nude pink for the lips. This way, the face seamlessly blends into the scene without looking overly pale.

Beyond the main scene, the "little yellow bird" plush toy sitting on the white Roman pillar in the bottom left corner was actually a clever touch I brought myself. Because the overall tone was so cool and elegant, adding a touch of bright yellow plush element actually brought a playful dynamic and gap-moe contrast to the frame, serving as a subtle nod to the character's inherently lively personality.

For poses, I didn't deliberately chase overly complex postures. Sitting at the edge of the set with legs crossed and tilted slightly allows my center of gravity to sink, showcasing the effortless lightness of the skirt splayed out around me. The posture of raising my right hand as if lightly holding the air was intended to guide attention toward my face and headpiece—under the veil, the coordination between eye contact and hand movements often conveys a quiet and gentle emotion. This photo captured the perfect moment; the diffused light on the tulle looks exceptionally soft without harsh highlights, keeping all details smoothly balanced.

Honestly, when doing Cosplay photography with large-skirted wedding dresses, the most critical step is managing the fabric. To ensure the photos look free of wrinkles and clutter, the crew and I frequently readjusted the dress hem and veil positioning before every shutter release. Often, what looks like effortless, natural lightness is backed by endless fine-tuning. However, as cosplay, being able to recreate a beloved game character to this degree turns all the hard work into visible results in the final image. Right now, I feel this photo perfectly preserves that quiet studio ambience, making it my personal favorite of the entire series.
