Changing into this blue-and-white athletic Cheerleader cosplay outfit and donning a metallic floating halo, I brought cheer poms and baseball gloves together into a single set for this creative shoot. Combining sports and cheerleading elements gave this look a vibrant energy, catching a lot of attention at the venue during this Anime Convention Tour Season.
For hair and makeup preparation, I specifically chose a light blonde long straight wig. The texture and thickness of the hair strands were crucial to ensure the metallic halo atop my head stayed securely anchored without slipping during larger movements. Paired with bright, striking blue contact lenses, this made my eyes look much clearer and more expressive. In terms of makeup, I toned down eyeshadow layering, focusing instead on a breathable base and naturally full lip color to highlight a clean, refreshing vibe. For the outfit, I chose a white crop top with blue stripes and a pleated miniskirt; the blue tie at the collar echoes the blue blocks on the high-waisted skirt, creating a very cohesive visual effect.
For props, the yellow-and-white cheer poms were a major highlight of this shoot; the material needed to be lightweight and fluffy to exhibit rich layers when waved. Another set of baseball props brought a different visual experience: a black-and-white fingerless glove was used for holding the ball, while a brown leather baseball glove was used for catching. At the moments of gripping the ball or swinging the bat, the body needed to maintain a firm, engaged tension to project an athletic feel through the frame. Although the metallic-textured halo has a floating design, balancing its center of gravity and angle required careful control.
Regarding equipment and lighting, this shoot on location utilized a Deep Light Imagery 55mm F1.8 large-aperture lens. This focal length is immensely practical in indoor environments: it not only frames half-body and full-body compositions effortlessly, but also leverages the large aperture to softly blur complex shelves, scoreboards, and posters in the background, cleanly isolating the main subject from the setting. For fill lighting, a Zhiyun X100RGB light stick was used; its high CRI light source kept my skin tone looking translucent and natural under backlit or side-lit conditions, while accurately rendering the brightness of the white top and the saturation of the blue stripes. Paired on site with Shenke audio gear and Tilta stabilization support, the entire shooting process went exceedingly smoothly.
During the shoot, we switched between two primary poses. The first was sitting on a black leather-topped wooden crate, holding poms with both hands in crossed or raised arm positions—an angle that beautifully presented the skirt and leg lines while conveying a relaxed, easygoing cheerleading vibe. The second was standing with a baseball glove and ball, assuming a pitching or catching stance. In this posture, leaning slightly forward, exerting arm tension, and adjusting the glove's opening angle were necessary to capture the most athletic, energetic snapshot. Interestingly, tossing and catching the baseball heavily tested candid snapshot timing and hand-eye coordination; to capture the most natural bat-swinging and ball-playing moments, we practiced repeatedly before reaching a satisfying result.
Overall, this blue-and-white styled look perfectly matches the character's inherently refreshing personality. Avoiding overly complex photo editing, we preserved original light and shadow textures as much as possible, letting athletic vitality and approachable charm flow naturally. Thanks to the offline photography event platform provided during this Anime Convention Tour Season; in terms of equipment support, scene building, and makeup/prop collaboration, it provided ample creative freedom to smoothly bring this project to completion.
