The photoshoot set prepared for the Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary is finally here for everyone to see. From prep to shooting and post-production, the entire journey was full of challenges. First, regarding the outfits: significant effort went into the materials across the featured looks. For instance, the first look's glossy leather jacket was extremely tricky with lighting—a slight angle deviation would blow out the highlights, but when captured right, that sleek sheen looks exceptionally high-end. Paired with black stockings and red-bottom heels while sitting on the sofa, it accentuated the extended leg lines. To give the blacks richer depth, I constantly smoothed out the stockings between takes to ensure no creases disrupted the visual flow. Indoors, we used warm-yellow rim lighting from behind the side to cast a soft halo on the white hair, contrasting with the cold, rigid leather jacket. For the ruin scenes, to match the techwear windbreaker, we designed plenty of dynamic poses, such as swinging a glowing broadsword and leaping into mid-air attacks. The retoucher put immense effort into special effects—green mutated beasts, flying sparks, and floating talismans gave the frames a cinematic narrative depth. As for the sets in the forest and ancient-style architecture, the emphasis shifted to interacting with natural light, where butterflies and flying birds breathed vitality into the scenes. Other stage-style and casual looks tested different lighting treatments as well, such as spotlight effects in a music studio and candid natural light snapshots on the streets. On-location shoots always come with unpredictable weather and lighting; waiting for that perfect beam of sunlight sometimes meant crouching in tall grass for hours, braving mosquito bites and sweltering heat. But the moment I saw the final shots, all the hardships felt completely worth it. I will keep pushing myself to bring you even more polished, high-quality work.
