This time I tried a ballet theme for Sorasaki Hina, transforming the original uniform elements into a more lightweight White bodysuit and sheer skirt. Paired with white tights and ballet shoes, the overall visual is closer to the pure feeling of a dance studio. The color scheme of the black horns, black tail, and black wings formed a strong visual contrast against the pure white background, which unexpectedly fits that gentle-yet-firm temperament of ballet beautifully. The shooting location was selected in a dance classroom with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and ballet barres; utilizing mirror photography allows for capturing both the back profile and front expressions simultaneously, while giving the composition a sense of extension. In terms of poses, I deliberately chose a few basic ballet movements, such as kneeling on the floor and looking back over the shoulder, attempting to preserve a bit of bodily rhythm in the static frames. The white wig and purple-pink eye makeup were adjusted by myself, hoping to recreate Hina's characteristic cool detachment layered with a touch of fragility. Regarding props, the tail and wings are made of hard materials, so I had to pay close attention to angles when sitting on the floor to make them fit naturally; the shooting process was actually quite a test for core strength. For lighting, soft natural light combined with indoor fill lights was used, ensuring the skin tone and white clothing wouldn't overexpose. This set of cosplay took about half a month of preparation from character selection to prop making and scene coordination, and I'm quite satisfied with the final photos. Combining ballet with a 2D character is quite a special way of expression, and I hope it allows everyone to see a different side of Sorasaki Hina.
