This summer location shoot in a school swimsuit was actually much more exhausting than anticipated. Standing by the pool in this outfit, the moment the sunlight hit my skin, I could instantly feel the oppressive weight of summer. To restore the character's double bun hairstyle along with those two long hair strands, I spent quite a bit of time before the shoot adjusting the volume and direction of the wig. The semi-transparent halo decoration on top of the head reflects wonderfully under intense light, but because it's relatively light, it easily tilts whenever the wind blows. During the shooting process, the photographer had to repeatedly help me tidy it up and fix its position. The jacket is a relatively thick striped cardigan, originally meant for sun protection and adding a bit of layering, but under the high outdoor temperatures, just wearing it for a short while would completely drench my back in sweat. Therefore, most of the time, I hurriedly threw it on just a second before the shutter was pressed.

When shooting summer-themed photos by the water, the hardest part is controlling the lighting balance. Although the shimmering water surface paired with reflectors can indeed bring a wonderful atmosphere to the frame, the intensity of the sunlight also makes facial shadows very heavy. Therefore, these few photos were basically taken in backlit or side-backlit conditions, combined with post-processing adjustments to achieve the current relatively transparent and natural skin tone effect. Speaking of the clothing, this school swimsuit is a standard Japanese school swimwear style, with a deep blue color scheme and thin straps, perfectly fitting the summer setting. Paired with pure white over-knee socks on the lower body, it is a textbook match—clean and crisp. However, stepping barefoot on the rough concrete surface at the edge of the pool was truly a test for the soles of my feet. It was a bit uncomfortable, and maintaining a smile and a natural posture definitely required some mental preparation.

I really like the composition of the first photo in the water using a blue swim ring as a prop. Although the reflection on the water surface was exceptionally strong at that time and I could barely open my eyes, we repeatedly adjusted the angle many times to capture that free and lazy summer atmosphere for this swimsuit cosplay. As for the fourth photo where I stood under a tree with arms wide open, a gust of wind happened to blow by, lifting the hem of the jacket, and the overall dynamic feel was captured quite well. In fact, worrying at midnight whether posting late means no one will see it is probably because I'm always too excited to sleep every time I finish a shoot, wanting to present it at the very first moment. To achieve the ideal fluffiness and natural drape for these looks, quite a bit of effort went into managing the wig. Throughout the entire shoot, although I sweated a lot, seeing the final presented texture makes me feel it was completely worth it. I hope there will be more opportunities to shoot different styles of works in the time to come.
