[Ram cosplay] Pink-haired girl in a summer meadow: Adorable and brimming with lively energy

Today, this pink layered dress captured my ideal vision of summer warmth in an outdoor setting. The character featured is Ram, brought to life by me, Mo Yi.

The very first element locked in was this multi-tiered pink dress, paired with a bright pink wig that displayed gorgeous, vibrant texture under direct sunlight. The neckline features a white turn-down collar dotted with black polka dots, accented with deep crimson ribbon bows at the bust and waist. The skirt is structured with cascading pink ruffled frills and delicate white lace, layered over a deep crimson underskirt. To complement the outfit, I wore over-the-knee White stockings with tie-up ribbons at the cuffs, paired with brown buckled flats on my feet.

The location chosen was an expansive open field flanked by tall wild grass. The summer sun blazed with fierce intensity, beating almost directly overhead. Such intense illumination posed a slight challenge—it was genuinely hard to keep my eyes wide open—yet the upside was pristine color fidelity, creating a vivid, striking contrast between the lush green grass and the soft pink dress.

For props, I prepared a light-colored wooden platter and a fresh croissant. To capture an organic, appetizing moment, I held the wooden tray while gently nibbling the croissant; snapping this expression took several attempts before it looked completely candid. Another slightly tricky posture was balancing the wooden tray on top of my head with hands clasped in prayer and eyes closed. Balancing the tray while controlling facial muscles was essential to keep from looking tense over the fear of dropping it.

We also incorporated a long red ribbon throughout the shoot. When the summer breeze swept through, the ribbon fluttered in unison with the pink locks, injecting kinetic fluidity into the frames. For the side-profile pose leaning against a stone bollard by the paved path, lifting one leg required anchoring all my weight on a single foot with my core constantly braced; though tiring, it yielded balanced leg lines and harmonious overall proportions. Deep in the meadow, quieter seated gestures—like resting my chin on one hand or idly twirling the ribbon—demanded letting my mind wander into a tranquil daydream, keeping my posture relaxed and open.

Shooting outdoors under direct heat meant sweating heavily, requiring frequent makeup touch-ups; the foundation and eye makeup had to be cooled and set constantly with a portable mini-fan to prevent creasing. Navigating the meadow in flats also called for cautious footing to avoid catching roots. The heat was relentless, yet seeing the crisp definition of individual hair strands and intricate lace textures across the proofs made every ounce of effort deeply rewarding. Ram's canonical persona is inherently adorable, and the bright pink hair combined with the tiered dress harmonized seamlessly with that vibrant summer spirit. Bypassing heavy digital grading, the final set relied primarily on raw daylight and authentic chiaroscuro to celebrate the luminous essence of summer.
