Today's shoot features Rem's kitty styling. When I received the studio's venue preview, I immediately felt that the vintage radio and the light filtering through the blinds resonated perfectly with this theme. The overarching goal was to capture a languid, cozy at-home afternoon mood. The wig was selected in a high-saturation vibrant blue, trimmed to shoulder length and topped with white cat ears adorned with tiny blue bows, along with a small pink triangular hairpin on the bangs. Paired with blue contact lenses, the makeup highlighted generous pink blush dusted beneath the eyes to add a slightly tipsy, endearing cuteness.
For the inner layer, I wore a white spaghetti-strap camisole, an underlayer that accentuates the neckline and shoulders gracefully, layered beneath a fluffy bright blue jacket. The plush jacket is wonderfully soft, its hue echoing the wig. To break up any visual fatigue from the dominant blue, I styled the lower half with over-the-knee White stockings; the crisp white-and-blue color blocking translated exceptionally clean on camera.
During the shoot, light was truly the soul of the composition. Afternoon natural daylight streamed through the venetian blinds, casting striped shadows across the wall, the vintage radio, and myself. Sitting on a brown woven mat with my legs crossed and bent, this posture beautifully accentuated the contours of the White stockings. Meanwhile, clasping my hands near my knees with my body curled slightly inward, complemented by the fleece jacket sliding naturally off the shoulders, evoked that safe, snug feeling of a small animal curling up.
Photographer @九九九是月 guided my poses from the side, telling me to stay as relaxed as possible—the gaze didn't need to be sharp, just looking into the lens with a touch of innocent curiosity and wonder as a Cute girl. Because the floor was quite hard, sitting like that tested core stability, but seeing the preview where the light and shadow fell softly across the white camisole and plush jacket, every bit of waiting for the right light and angle was totally worth it.
The overall palette was anchored in blue and white, which, combined with the wooden radio, warm yellow walls, and bold chiaroscuro contrast, lent the frames both homestyle warmth and the dreamy magic unique to a 2D cosplay. Without relying on overly elaborate props, we concentrated entirely on character emotion and sculpting with light. Wrapping up this Rem cosplay shoot left me feeling completely soft and cozy inside.
