[Rem Cosplay] Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, blue heartbeat at the pool night

Let's cut straight to the point. What was shot this time is the swimsuit version of Rem, with the location chosen as an outdoor swimming pool at night, surrounded by flashing neon lights and a gazebo. To restore the classic image of Rem in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, a sailor suit-style swimsuit was chosen this time. The top is a white translucent mesh material, with blue-and-white striped patterns on the neckline and cuffs, and a yellow neckerchief tied at the chest, fixed by a red button. The hair is still the signature light blue short hair, paired with a white sailor hat featuring a pink knot and a cross hairpin. To reflect the lightweight feel of the sailor suit, a blue-and-white striped swimsuit was chosen as the inner wear, and the overall color scheme is very unified.
Shooting underwater at night is actually quite challenging. The difference between the water temperature and room temperature makes the body shiver involuntarily, and after entering the water wearing a translucent swimsuit, the clothes cling tightly to the body, and the amplitude of movements is also restricted by water resistance. To ensure the makeup doesn't smudge, a lot of setting work was done before makeup, and waterproof mascara and long-lasting foundation are must-haves. During the shoot, I sat in a blue-and-white striped inflatable swimming ring or stood in waist-deep water, trying hard to maintain balance while making movements and expressions matching Rem's personality. The hardest part to control when shooting in water is the hair; the wig becomes heavy after getting wet and needs continuous adjustment to maintain its fluffiness.
The character of Rem herself has a gentle, firm, and slightly tragic side, so in front of the lens, I tried my best to show her gaze that carries a bit of melancholy yet is extremely focused. Posing in the water is actually very hard to strike, because leaning back slightly easily causes a loss of center of gravity, so the photographer teacher has been guiding from the side, capturing many natural expressions. For example, the shot of lying on the swim ring making V-signs with both hands was captured after completely relaxing, which looks quite lively. There are also the fists-clenched and hands-on-hips poses, which are meant to show Rem's capable and serious side.
The details of the clothing are also the focus of this shoot. The translucent material presents a special texture under the flash, and the blue-and-white striped swim skirt floating underwater looks very good. Although I soaked in the water for more than two hours and my skin became wrinkled, seeing the final photos made me feel it was all worth it. Every cosplay is a dialogue with the character, hoping that through this set of photos, everyone can see a different Rem. This shoot also accumulated a lot of underwater photography experience, such as how to control facial expressions and how to coordinate with underwater lighting.
