In this shoot, I have always wanted to capture that emotion of Madoka Kaname swaying between gentleness and tragedy. Despite wearing a pink and white Magical Girl outfit, under this cool-toned architectural light and shadow, it always reminds people of the profound theme that 'the pink fairy tale is written full of grey demise.' The identity of a magical girl is not just about the gorgeousness of the dress-up, but more about the heavy fate carried deep within the soul.
In the preparation of makeup and styling this time, I specially emphasized the saturation of the hair color to restore that iconic pink texture. Meanwhile, the fluffiness of the skirt hem was adjusted multiple times, striving to maintain a perfect silhouette in both dynamic and static states. Every layer of lace and every knot of the ribbon speaks of the story behind the character in the details.
Many friends ask me why I chose this character. In fact, it is because I am deeply fascinated by that kind of 'self-sacrificing salvation.' At the moment the shutter is pressed, I try to integrate that decisiveness of protecting others into every shift of my gaze. I hope these lenses can convey this cross-dimensional emotion. Rather than a simple dress-up, I hope to bring the audience a kind of resonance about fate. This contrast between light, shadow, and color is precisely the core expression of this creation.
