I shot this Honkai Impact 3rd Seele Starchasm Nyx cosplay on-site at the TGS2025 Anime convention. This Cosplay costume features numerous design details—the black and red color palette combined with the silver metallic framework created an incredible texture under the event lighting. In terms of wearing it, the chest armor and neckpiece were quite heavy, taking a lot of time to adjust properly, while the asymmetrical shoulder armor truly tested my posing angles. For the wig, I specifically chose a style with red gradient tips, which, paired with red contact lenses and deep eye makeup, perfectly brought out the cold, elegant, and mysterious aura of this character design.
The shooting location was quite crowded, with railings and staff members in the background, so the bokeh effect of the telephoto lens was a huge help. The composition of Photo 1 aims to showcase the layered volume of the wide skirt and overall dynamic tension; opening up my arms slightly accentuated the sharpness of the weapon armor. Photo 2 features a tighter half-body close-up where I slightly lowered my head, covered the lower half of my face with red gloves, and gazed straight into the lens. This was mainly to enhance the visual impact of the red gloves and black skirt armor, directly conveying that chilly, fierce feeling through my gaze. Since the overall tone was dark, the photographer intentionally chose cool-toned lighting to highlight the metallic sheen of the armor.
To recreate the mesh structure and red inner lining details of the Cosplay costume, I worked through several poses to reveal the skirt armor's textures in motion. The on-site experience at TGS2025 was fantastic. Even though the outfit was heavy and made walking difficult, seeing that sharp, cool elegance come to life in the camera made all the effort worthwhile. Everyone coordinated with great synergy. I'm truly grateful for capturing these moments; in my understanding, Seele has a complex and profound side, and I hope to convey that through these Convention photos. It was also a wonderful character experience, spending lots of time fine-tuning everything from makeup and styling to posing design with the team. This was a truly rewarding photoshoot sharing.
