[Entelechia Cosplay] Arknights: Heavy Scythe Moments at the May Day Firefly ACG Expo

The May Day Firefly ACG Expo has successfully wrapped up, and this time I cosplayed Entelechia from Arknights. From getting this costume to shooting on site, the entire process was filled with challenges and joy.

First, let's talk about the weapon prop that drew the most attention—that giant black-and-white scythe. To get as close to the character setting as possible, the main body of the scythe was made using high-density EVA foam and PVC pipes, with glossy paint sprayed on the surface for exceptionally sharp lines. Because the span of the main blade is huge, sanding and reinforcing it took several nights just to maintain a perfect curve. The physical balance and grip were adjusted; although holding it with one hand was a bit exhausting, posing with it in various combat stances at the venue looked amazing on camera. To make it convenient for convention transport, the scythe featured a detachable modular design that took about five minutes to assemble on site. Luckily, my partner was great, making the assembly process very smooth.

Next, let's talk about the costume itself. This Gothic-style battle dress is highly recognizable. The top half is a glossy black leather corset top featuring a tiered white ruffled collar, with metallic silver chains and buckles added at the shoulders and waist, giving an excellent reflective shine under the venue's overhead spotlights. The lower half is a massive dual-sided black-and-red skirt—black on the outside and red on the inside—so lifting it slightly during the shoot reveals a striking contrast with full visual tension. What satisfied me most was the white cross-strap stockings on the thighs paired with leg rings; as a White tights cosplay feature, this asymmetric design visually elongated my legs, which, paired with black platform ankle boots, anchored the character's aura solidly.

Makeup and hair also took a lot of effort. To restore Entelechia's expression, I selected translucent bright red contact lenses paired with upturned red eyeshadow at the outer corners, creating an aura that felt both mysterious and slightly dangerous. The wig's ends were thinned out to create light, airy layers, alongside face-framing bangs. The pointed elf ears and small black horns deserve full marks for character accuracy.

The temperature on the convention day wasn't low, so walking around the hall in this heavy equipment was a real physical test. Sweating heavily was a given, and to prevent the skirt from tripping passersby, I had to hold up my hem constantly while walking. However, whenever fellow fans recognized me and praised the prop texture, all the fatigue dissolved instantly. I was very lucky that day to meet a photographer whose aesthetics and lighting setup matched my vision perfectly; although we couldn't execute complex action poses, the static close-ups and full-body shots were already stunning enough.

This set of photos records my joy at the Firefly ACG Expo and serves as a sincere tribute to the character Entelechia. Being able to bring a beloved Arknights character into the real world is truly a meaningful endeavor in itself. Finally, I'd like to say that behind seemingly effortless cosplay lies countless hours of obsessive detail-refining and grinding on props. Though physically exhausted, seeing the finished photos made every effort completely worth it.
