This shoot was highly fulfilling, and I finally brought Misaka Mikoto's Tokiwadai school uniform outfit to an outdoor setting. Although this JK uniform outfit is commonly seen in the anime, the actual quality and texture feel quite different when made into reality—the white shirt is a breathable cotton blend with a stiff collar, paired with a beige V-neck knitted vest. The red piping and embroidered school badge on the vest are all custom-recreated, and if you look closely, you can see the texture on the shield-shaped emblem on the chest. The pleats of the gray pleated skirt are pressed very sharply, so they won't blow around messily even in the wind, and the hem length is just above the knees, making it very easy to walk around.

The weather on the shooting day was incredibly supportive; the blue sky, white clouds, and highly saturated sunlight felt exactly like the clear, cloudless skies in the anime. The photographer @HIRO_Wufanfan had an amazing command over the light, especially for the sets taken under the elevated highway in the first half. The sunlight filtered through the steel frame structures, casting staggered light patches on my face. Combined with the hair strands blowing in the wind, the snapshot feeling of those moments was exceptionally natural. My wig is a reddish-brown short straight style with slightly layered ends. It was actually quite hard to control when the wind blew, but the experienced photographer always managed to press the shutter at the exact moment my hair fluttered most beautifully.

In the second half, we moved to a location with a red iron tower. This landmark building truly gave a strong 2D vibe; the bright red of the tower contrasted intensely with the blue sky, providing the entire frame with excellent depth. For the low-angle shot where I am sitting on the railing (the one ultimately chosen as the cover), the photographer intentionally squatted very low, using a wide-angle lens to elongate my legs while capturing both the iron tower and the clouds into the background. The combination of black loafers and white calf socks showed incredible texture under the light, even capturing the detailed reflections on the shoe surfaces. To maintain my balance at that moment, I held onto the railing with one hand while placing the other over my head to block the sun. That pose was actually a bit strenuous, but the resulting effect was completely worth it.

Regarding the details of this costume, I actually put a lot of thought into the preparation. For instance, the cut of the vest had to be just right to tuck into the shirt hem without being too tight, otherwise raising my arms would pull the shirt out. The gray pleated skirt has an adjustable waist design, but for the best shoot results, I intentionally chose a more fitted size so that the pleats wouldn't open up whether sitting or standing. Also, that pair of platform loafers, though looking vintage, actually has lightweight rubber soles, so my feet didn't feel tired even after walking all day. The black leather bag was also sourced based on the original setting; it's not a rigid, hard-molded style, but carries a natural slouched curve, which flatters the overall proportions nicely when worn over the shoulder.

There were actually many small mishaps during the shooting process, such as the wig directly blowing into my face when the wind was too strong, or the light shifting too quickly, requiring constant adjustments to the exposure parameters. But it is precisely these uncontrollable factors that make every photo vivid. I especially love the fluttering-in-the-wind feeling in the second photo, which is completely unachievable through rigid posing. Moreover, there were quite a few passersby watching us that day, making me a bit shy. However, the moment I reminded myself that I was portraying Misaka Mikoto, I naturally straightened my back and let that signature confidence and liveliness shine through.

As an outdoor photography cosplay session, I feel the greatest takeaway this time was the integration with the environment. It wasn't simply about standing in front of a pretty background and posing, but letting the wind, light, architecture, and character interact with each other. For example, the metallic texture under the elevated highway paired perfectly with the uniform, and the industrial style of the iron tower formed a wonderful clash with the youthful energy of the school uniform. In post-processing, I basically only did basic color calibration and shadow brightening, without over-editing the photos, because the raw images were already satisfying enough. The photographer also mentioned that my state was very relaxed, probably because this outfit made me feel genuinely comfortable.

When final sorting through the pictures, I selected six representative ones to showcase this character's everyday life vibe from different angles. Some feature turning the head to gaze afar, some tilting back to block the piercing sunlight, and others just spacing out while sitting on the railing—each one is a true memory of that day. Although we shot a lot that day, being able to pick out satisfying works to post serves as the most perfect period to this outdoor shoot. I hope to maintain this candid snapshot feeling in subsequent cosplay plans and record more moments full of life.
