[Qina cosplay] Ye Luoli: Dark Gothic style Styling Log After Becoming Dark Qina

For this Dark Qina look, extensive preparations went into everything from the wardrobe to the makeup. For the wig, I selected deep crimson long straight hair with thick, blunt bangs, styled with braided crown accents on top and accessorized with long drop earrings featuring red gemstones and silver tassels. The makeup focused heavily on intensifying eye contours, complemented by crimson contact lenses and classic true-red lipstick to recreate the character's menacing aura after her darkening in this Qina cosplay.

The costume is an off-the-shoulder dress in a red-and-black palette, with extensive black lace patterns adorning the gown. An oversized red ribbon bow at the waist paired with cascading crystal pendant chains enhanced the overall dimensional layering in this Gothic style ensemble. The arms were adorned with sheer black tulle oversleeves. To complement this look, I prepared a pair of deep crimson suede high heels accented by dramatic black ribbon tie straps around the heels.

The photoshoot primarily took place in an outdoor greenery area. For the first sequence of poses, I tried holding my shoes while looking back over my shoulder directly into the lens, which nicely showcased the shoulder-neck lines and the garment details across the back. Posing with the card props was the core highlight of this session. When standing, crossing both hands to hold cards and showcase their front and back designs required maintaining an upright posture, while the sheer fabric along the arms created a gorgeous translucent glow under natural daylight. Sitting on a rattan sofa, I placed my legs together angled sideways, which accentuated leg contours while allowing the lace pleats of the skirt hem to drape naturally. The pose leaning back against the sofa with one leg crossed over the other, accented by the black ribbon around the ankle, visually elongated my proportions and resonated deeply with the character's temperament.

To make the card props feel more magical during levitating poses, I held my right hand in a receptive cupping gesture while keeping my left fist gently over my chest, ready for floating special effects in post-production. Photographing characters with fantasy elements makes prop interaction crucial, requiring dynamic body language to guide the viewer's gaze. The entire shoot prioritized the layered volume of the skirt and harmonious physical silhouettes. Sunlight was quite strong outdoors on the day of the shoot; choosing tree shade and diffused lighting along building edges preserved the rich chromatic nuances of the red and black garments. Judging by the final cuts, the red-and-black contrast stood out brilliantly against the backdrop of outdoor foliage. Through ongoing adjustments in pose design and lighting coordination, this Dark Gothic style set came together seamlessly.
