[Cifera Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Found a stray kitten on the street that insisted on coming home with me

Today was originally set aside to shoot a finished set for Cifera, whose Honkai: Star Rail design is packed with an incredible amount of detail. After gearing up completely and heading toward a street corner to catch a quick breather in the shade, a gray-and-white kitten suddenly darted out from the nearby shrubs. Completely unfazed by strangers, it marched straight up to nuzzle against my gloves, even reaching out its paws to bat at my fingers.

Because I was wearing Cifera's cat-ear hood, crouching down to interact with it made for such a delightfully whimsical scene that the photographer couldn't resist. Before we could even get into the planned poses, the photographer snapped the exact moment I extended my hand as the kitten leaned in. Thanks to the camera angle, it genuinely looked like the little kitten was insisting on dragging me back home.

In truth, crafting the costume and props for this outdoor shoot took immense dedication. The cat-ear hood has interior wire reinforcements and custom-sewn hidden snap buttons to keep the ears from flopping outdoors. The asymmetrical blue-and-black sleeve cuffs and gloves offer a snug, second-skin fit, though shooting in 30°C outdoor heat made them rather sweltering. The wig had also been re-styled the day before, with the bangs trimmed precisely to conceal the wig cap line, giving it a remarkably natural texture under daylight.

Outdoor shoots are always a test of lighting conditions and stamina. Luckily, the overcast sky provided soft, diffused light today, leaving raw skin textures looking wonderfully clean. During those ten minutes crouching by the roadside playing with the kitten, I completely forgot I was working until a passerby startled the little one away, after which we wrapped up the remaining few frames.

Encountering stray animals during cosplay shoots is always such a soothing, healing experience. They couldn't care less about the unusual garments you wear; they simply want to share a playful moment. Today's delightful surprise made all the day's exhaustion melt away. As the weather warms up, remember to stay hydrated, carry mini fans, and prevent heatstroke during outdoor shoots. Wishing everyone fantastic shoots and satisfying sets!
