Sitting down for hours at a time, finishing this set of preview teasers—to say my legs didn't go numb would be a lie, but the moment I saw the shots, it felt like everything was completely worth it. For this Haikou cosplay shoot, just setting up the scene took immense effort. To match the style of this magical long dress outfit, the photographer and original poster specially built a dreamy purple-themed fantasy flower sea backdrop. The vines, blossoms, and white European-style railings you see in the frame were all arranged piece by piece by the team. To evoke the texture of an enchanted forest, we even laid down artificial green turf, complemented by candelabras and white partition screens. Such detail-rich stage design is an enormous asset to presenting a cosplay.
The costume I wore is packed with intricate details: a black base trimmed with gold edging, accented by pink-and-white inner lining and a necktie. To accentuate the character's temperament, I put on a light-blonde wig styled with delicate care, paired with a purple gem hairpiece and a black bow headband, making the character's signature visual features as distinct and dimensional as possible. The long-handled staff in my hands actually carried some weight and was covered in exquisite ornamentation; to maintain a steady posture in front of the lens, the muscles in my wrists and arms stayed taut throughout. Furthermore, the deep purple stockings on my legs not only echoed the color tone of the staff, but also flattered the overall silhouette for this Purple stockings cosplay. During the shoot, I sat on a white chair with my legs crossed, maintaining an elegant seated posture with one hand holding the staff and the other gently raised. While this pose seems simple, keeping a natural curve over a long period while managing facial expressions was truly a test. The massive purple flower prop in the background, paired with surrounding pink and white roses, created an otherworldly magical aura.
The ACG atmosphere in Haikou has always been fantastic, and our teamwork during this shoot was completely in sync. From hair, makeup, and styling prep to on-set lighting, every stage was focused on faithfully recreating the character's atmosphere. Even though this is just a teaser, every frame reflects the dedication of the entire crew. Every second presented before the camera is backed by countless adjustments and attempts. In fact, while shooting this set, to honor the framing and composition, I could barely move freely, and even had to steady my breathing rhythm for fear of disturbing the quiet, mysterious mood. Holding the same pose in high heels and stockings for hours definitely left my legs somewhat stiff, but every time I heard the shutter click, I knew all the effort was worthwhile. I thoroughly enjoyed this shoot booking in Haikou, and communication with the photographer was seamless from start to finish. From our initial discussions about color palettes to the placement of every single flower and prop on set, everyone strived for perfection. This set is not only a tribute to the character, but also a record of our team's collective effort. I hope everyone can see the care we poured into every detail, and more official shots will be released step by step. May the final images let you feel the enchanting charm woven between magic and this sea of flowers.
