[Sandrone Cosplay] Genshin Impact Marionette: Cosplay Fitting and Texture Log

This fitting session is for Sandrone's costume from Genshin Impact, with the primary goal of checking the fit and the overall styling effect. When I unboxed the actual costume, my first impression was that while the decorative elements looked complicated in photos, the physical pieces were arranged very neatly. The black fabric of the upper body has a matte texture, creating a sharp color contrast with the white ruffled collar. The hollow gold cross accent in the center of the chest relies on the white inner lining underneath to bring out its outline; I spent some time adjusting the back laces when putting it on to make sure the cross stayed straight and centered.

The accessory system for this costume is fairly complete. The neckline connects directly to ruffles, saving the hassle of finding an extra neck accessory. The detachable sleeve covers feature a navy blue base with white accents; paired with the wide cuffs, they visually slim down the arm lines. The subtle peek of white lace trim beneath the sleeves echoes the layers of the skirt. However, with these detached sleeves, raising the arms causes a bit of tugging, which slightly restricts the range of motion.

The wig is light blonde, long, and straight, accented with distinct red streaks on both sides. The hair color coordinates nicely with the white headband, which comes pre-attached to the wig, requiring no extra fastening and saving plenty of prep time. To soften the visibility of the parting line, I gently styled the bangs and sideburns after putting it on, allowing the hair to drape naturally over both shoulders.

The bottom half of the outfit is the centerpiece of this look. The pale gold jacquard pattern on the white tights is especially striking around the thigh area; compared to plain white stockings, this intricately patterned design enriches the visual texture of the legs. During the fitting, I specifically checked the symmetry of the pattern across both legs, as the angle must be aligned carefully when standing to prevent the pattern from distorting. The black round-toe platform shoes with ankle straps have a wonderful vintage feel, but due to their high center of gravity, you need to engage the calf muscles slightly to ensure the leg lines appear sleek and smooth on camera.

The layered design of the skirt is packed with detail. The outer white apron is trimmed with gold edging, and the fabric is stiffer than expected, which helps maintain its structure while standing rather than collapsing against the underskirt. The inner wine-red pleated skirt is slightly shorter, peeking out beneath the overskirt to create a striking color-block effect. The red fabric bows and ribbons on both sides of the waist are vibrant, though they need occasional smoothing during the fitting to prevent them from twisting together.

For the fitting setting, I chose the area next to the indoor stairs. The reflection from the tiled floor provides a subtle, airy clarity to the indoor environment. Although the figures and merchandise stored in the cabinet on the right add a touch of clutter, they also bring an authentic touch of everyday life, saving a dedicated trip to a studio. A direct frontal flash was used for the photos, effectively illuminating shadow details so that the metallic sheen of the gold chest accessory and the subtle leg patterns could be showcased clearly.

While experimenting with different poses, dynamic and wider stances proved much better suited for showcasing the garment's construction. Paired with the white gloves, the overall silhouette already looks quite complete. The materials feel well-made without looking cheap or distracting from the character itself, staying very true to the setting. Overall, this fitting session achieved exactly the desired outcome.
