Today, I'm sharing this set of The Shorekeeper photos with everyone. The moment I received this costume, I felt it absolutely required a pure white scene, utilizing cool tones to highlight the outfit's gradient and the character's serene, aloof nature. After discussing with the photographer, we immediately booked Nanchang Hualiuliu Studio. The studio's set design matched my expectations perfectly—pure white Roman columns, cascading pearl bead curtains, and translucent sheer drapes instantly maxed out the atmosphere.

The lighting setup on the shoot day was meticulously planned. To cultivate that deep-sea crystal clarity, we utilized widespread soft lighting and added a light blue color gel to the key light; this produced an illumination that felt chilly without turning the skin tone gray. As shown in the pictures, I wore a blue-and-white gradient fantasy-style dress with cutouts and an exposed waist. To match the character's traits, white ribbons were wrapped around my arms and a silver collar adorned my neck. For the sitting pose, I kept my back as straight as possible, letting one leg drape naturally while slightly bending the other, effectively showing off the leg silhouette while allowing the trailing skirt train to spread out naturally.

The on-set prop team added numerous blue butterflies and jellyfish elements, along with white roses and feathers. That translucent jellyfish prop added immense charm, sparkling with a rippling water texture under the studio lights. When the post-production artist handled this set, the color temperature was dialed way down while retaining the highlights cleanly without overexposure, giving the entire frame a dreamy, luminous clarity reminiscent of looking at the world underwater. For the makeup, I chose blue contact lenses and deepened the eye contours; paired with the light blue wig, the whole persona looked like an ethereal fairy swimming up from the deep sea.

Shooting with such a massive skirt in a Fantasy studio photography setting is physically exhausting when switching poses. Because of the multi-layered fabric, the slightest move could crumple the skirt hem. Every time I changed positions, I smoothed out the drape first to ensure smooth, uninterrupted lines on camera. For example, in the full-body sitting pose of Picture 3, to convey an elongated leg line, my body leaned slightly to one side; this elongated the legs while accentuating waist curves. The gold-framed mirrors and candelabras in the background also provided great interactive accents, keeping the frame dynamic.

The fabric of this costume is remarkably light and airy. Even with the studio air conditioning running, moving around in layers of chiffon still felt warm. However, seeing the finished results made every bit of effort worth it. The shooting pace was steady; we spent about three hours capturing everything from wide establishing angles to tight close-ups. Often, great photos don't rely solely on post-processing—on-camera expressiveness beforehand matters just as much. You have to embody the character's emotion; The Shorekeeper carries a detached, sacred aura, so I deliberately kept my gaze calm and faintly melancholic, achieving harmony with the Blue-themed cosplay scene. For gestures, I avoided overly dramatic movements, instead using gentle hand caresses and subtle glances to infuse narrative depth, which blended with the pearls and chiffon to evoke an ethereal, fragile beauty. This predominantly static shooting method highlighted the character's quiet presence with pure clarity.
