[Ajitani Hifumi cosplay] Blue Archive Summer Swimsuit: Splashing Water Is Serious Business

This Blue Archive Ajitani Hifumi Swimsuit cosplay set was actually photographed last summer, and having finally wrapped the post-processing, it puts a perfect punctuation mark on last year's creative schedule. While this year's swimwear concepts have yet to kick off, looking at these edits brings the vivid rush of summer right back.

Natural sunlight on shoot day was dazzling, staged at a private courtyard pool. To faithfully match Hifumi's look, I wore a light flax-blonde twin-tail wig topped with black-rimmed sunglasses and signature yellow-and-black plush hair ornaments. The swimwear was a white off-the-shoulder piece framed with delicate ruffles, accented at the neckline by slim black neck cords and a bow tie, catching the bright daylight with airy grace. To max out the playful splash vibe, I brought along a yellow-and-black garden hose spray nozzle alongside an inflatable white swim ring printed with cute cartoon motifs.

Freezing water droplets in high definition was quite a technical hurdle on set. Water streams travel fast; crisp splashes require high shutter speeds, while side-backlighting turns droplets into glistening, translucent jewels. Holding the hose, I kept my shoulders loose and relaxed to avoid stiffness, keeping my gaze in spontaneous dialogue with the lens. In several frames, I perched along the blue-and-white tiled pool coping with crossed legs, which elongated lower body lines while channeling a languid summer afternoon mood. In others, leaning across the inflated swim ring utilized its curving contours to build playful dimensional volume.

Growing up in the mountains of Sichuan, I've always held a deep longing for the open sea. While Sichuan's landscapes are breathtaking, a true summer swimsuit set feels complete with ocean breezes and soft sandy shores. Though this set was staged poolside in a garden with ample sun and water, I kept quietly wishing for the chance to shoot along a real coastline soon. The clean lines of the white swimsuit matched her design cleanly, punctuated by black contrast ties for graphic pop.

During color grading, I preserved genuine skin texture while optimizing clear highlights to evoke the breezy translucency of a bright Summer Film. Green courtyard foliage contrasted against the turquoise pool, enriched by glistening water refractions that brought the frames alive. Cosplay reaches beyond donning wigs and fabric; it is about inhabiting that buoyant, carefree spirit. Hifumi's summer look harmonizes youthful sweetness with lively energy.
