Shooting Vodyanitsa this time involved extensive pre-production preparation. Snezhnayan character designs in Genshin Impact (Genshin Impact) are notoriously intricate, and this outfit features abundant layered textures. The ruffles of the white lace neckpiece had to be set in place step-by-step with styling spray to capture that airy, breathable three-dimensional feel. The voluminous flowing sleeves easily slipped or bunched too thickly while posing, requiring deliberate wrist and elbow positioning to guide the fabric's flow. The fishtail streamers of the skirt were another key focus; keeping their drape clean alongside shimmering blue sequins and metallic textures was essential to channel Snezhnaya's signature fusion of frost and advanced technology before the camera.

The mechanical pendant over the chest and geometric bracers on the arms required careful padding and safety adjustments during fitting. The bracers in particular were lined with custom Velcro to hug the arms securely through broad movements. For the wig, the teal-green shade easily bleaches out under intense studio strobes, so the environment light was softened to preserve individual hair fibers and texture. The white blossoms and pearl ornaments on the headpiece were reinforced to avoid slipping mid-shoot. The chest ornament featured integrated micro-LED lights to deliver an organic pulsing glow, while the blue-gray skirt train combined fabrics of varying sheens to produce a soft gradient drape when seated.

For cosmetics, to honor a 2D aesthetic, I wore high-saturation vivid blue contact lenses. The eye makeup elongated the contours, and illuminated aegyo sal brought out an innocent, soft-yet-haughty expression fitting the character. A hydrating peach-toned lip tint with softly blended edges completed the visage.

The set dressing was a major endeavor: we sculpted a dreamlike sea of blue and white lilies and hydrangeas, flanked by crystalline light pillars and ornate European carved panels. My favorite touch was the pearl anklet: paired with the white plush rug, sitting barefoot with legs crossed to the side beautifully elongated the leg lines and revealed a softer, alluring nuance. The tiny green gemstones on the anklet caught the light exquisitely, harmonizing with the floral headpiece. Although Snezhnaya is shrouded in snow and ice, trading snowdrifts for a sea of flowers offered a distinctive visual charm.

Facial expression management was the real test during shooting. Since the wardrobe and props are already elaborate, facial expressions called for understated subtlety. Keeping my lips parted slightly while guiding my gaze, I moved through poses such as resting a cheek on my hand, adjusting a cuff, or lifting the skirt hem. To lend visual breath to the frame, I used the oversized sleeves to partially veil the chin or tilted my head softly. Soft, high-key lighting paired with cool-and-warm color contrasts in the backdrop made the silhouette appear translucent and luminous. As the caption says—she truly looks gorgeous, and when the chance comes next time, it would be wonderful to build a snowman together with Odette.
